Therapy is a journey, and like any journey, it helps to know where you’re headed.

Just like many things in life, having goals in therapy can guide your progress and keep you motivated.

But if you’re not sure what your goals are yet, that’s okay.

You don’t have to have all the answers Kevin is here to help you find them, one step at a time.

✨ Start where you are. Build from there.

Ever feel like you’re doing all the “right” things, but still feel disconnected from others? RO-DBT might hold the answer.

Unlike other therapies, RO-DBT focuses on social-signaling, how you outwardly express emotions. Why? Because when our expressions don’t match our inner experience, it can lead to disconnection, loneliness, and distress.

RO-DBT helps individuals who tend to overcontrol—those who mask feelings, suppress emotions, and struggle to connect—learn how to express themselves authentically and build meaningful relationships.

What does progress in therapy really look like?
It’s not always big, dramatic breakthroughs — often, it’s these quiet shifts:

✅ Saying no without guilt
✅ Letting yourself feel instead of numb
✅ Taking a pause before reacting

Grief doesn’t always show up neatly—and that’s okay. RO-DBT reminds us that flexible responding means allowing space for the messy, awkward parts of healing instead of avoiding them. 💭

Grief is a testament to love it shows how deeply something mattered to you.

It’s not something to rush through or hide away. In fact, sharing your grief can open the door to connection, healing, and discovering what truly matters most.

If you’re carrying a heavy heart, we’re here to help lighten the load. 💚

5 tiny things, big nervous system impact. 🌱

Calming your mind doesn’t have to be complicated. Try stepping outside, sipping some ice water, naming what’s going on inside, slowing your breath, or noticing what’s right in your hands.

Small shifts, real relief.

Stress is a natural response to external pressure. Anxiety, on the other hand, can linger even when there’s no obvious cause.

Knowing the difference matters. It can help you take back control.

✨ If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Reach out, talk to a professional, or take the first step by simply checking in with yourself today.

🧠✨ Did you know you can shift your emotional state just by changing your body posture?

In Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), we use what’s called the Big 3 + 1 to activate the body’s social safety system—a system hardwired to help us feel calm, connected, and open to others.

Here’s how to try it:
1️⃣ Take slow, deep breaths
2️⃣ Raise your eyebrows (“eyebrows up!”)
3️⃣ Create a soft, closed-mouth smile
➕ Lean back, draw your shoulders down, and open your chest

💡Why it works:
We don’t always have to think our way out of anxiety—we can do our way out. These small, intentional behaviors signal to your brain that you’re safe, helping to mute stress and open the door to social connection.
