Resident Joe and our Resident Services Coordinator, Kim, have been playing “Shut the Box” for a year. You must have tiles 1-12 flipped up to win, by rolling two dice and choosing combinations of the number you rolled. Today, JOE SHUT THE BOX for the first time! Congrats Joe!

On this rainy afternoon, we stayed warm and dry listening to the tunes of the Basically Bluegrass Band, a local group from right here in Sycamore! A couple of our residents have known the band members for quite some time, so that made it extra fun.🎶🪕

Oktoberfest kicks off tomorrow, and we got a headstart! The day began with a Life Long Learning lesson on the history of Oktoberfest, we enjoyed a delicious German lunch made by our own culinary team, and ended with some great musical entertainment. It was a day full of "gemütlichkeit"!

A special thank you to the Sycamore Police Department and Elder Care Services for presenting to us on senior safety. They covered different types of scams that are going on with senior citizens, and the various services the Sycamore Police Department has to offer.

We had a heartfelt remembrance in honor of 9-11 today. It was so moving when we played the "Star Spangled Banner" and all the residents stood up.🇺🇲

Our artists were at it again! It's sunflower season, and they did it justice with these beauties. 🌻

We had a wonderful visit from Cosley Zoo! They shared with our residents some of their Ambassador Animals and explained their habitat, diets and where they originate from. Animals included an African Millipede, a Rabbit and a Lizard. It was very educational and fun!
