Today, we’re honored to share a heartfelt message from the parents of one of our Opportunity House clients:

"Our story is not unlike most families with adult special needs children. We searched for over a year to find the most appropriate setting or agency to provide safe and comfortable housing, employment, and social opportunities.

Our son has been part of the Opportunity House family for over a year. He has a beautiful home with dedicated, compassionate staff, housemates he cares for, and employment at the OH work site.

After only 18 months, he felt at home at OH. We are convinced Opportunity House is the perfect choice for our son."

Opportunity House at the DeKalb Public Library!

Our Opportunity House team had a wonderful time presenting today at the DeKalb Public Library, sharing information about our programs and services with local library visitors and community members.

From Community Day Services and Supported Employment to Residential Programs, Athletics, and Recreation, we’re proud to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, work, and enjoy community life right here in DeKalb County.

Didn’t make it today? We’ll be back this Friday, November 14th, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. in the Zimmerman Meeting Room!

Happy Halloween from Opportunity House! 🎃

Our Community Day Services program celebrated today with face painting, spooky music, and a fun costume parade! Meanwhile, one of our groups was invited to another agency’s Halloween party, where they had a blast meeting new friends.
