Cornbread & Roses is looking for artists to submit works for our first ever art show! This pride, we want to celebrate the creativity and resilience of YOU, our q***r and trans community.

Interested in participating? Here’s what you need to know:

- Artists can submit works using any medium starting on May 31st and through June 27th by dropping off pieces at the CBR farmhouse.
- Throughout the month of June, CBR will display works in our farmhouse and on our social media for all to enjoy!
- On June 27th, we will gather at our farmhouse for a community potluck where folks can join us for some good food and good art.
- Community members will be able to vote in person or online for their favorite pieces.
- Thanks to our community partners, artists will be eligible to receive prizes and goodies!

If you’re interested in selling your work, please include the price! All money from sales will go directly to the artists.

Hello friends, neighbors, and community. Please take a moment to click the link and read Cheyenne’s story. This is someone in our community who needs their village. Didn’t we all grow up hearing or saying, “it takes a village”? For all of us that’s true. For people in our community facing disability it’s even more so.
Cheyenne is touching and doing everything she can as a disabled person, care-taking their disabled parent, in systems that are actively being dismantled. She is in need of surgery that needs a safe place to heal and recover from. If you can support, please do, if you can’t please share. It takes all of us.

How to Support Our Work:
As a scrappy little non-profit in rural Appalachia, community support is the necessary piece that enables us to do this work. This year we are focusing on building sustainability in our community mental health program, low-barrier food pantry, and community space/farmhouse. We need your help! You can help by sharing our posts, donating, volunteering, and/or helping with the supplies that keep all three of our programs thriving. Please check the links in our bio for more information!

As both a clinician and massage therapist, Jessie believes massage and bodywork are an important part of caring for ourselves and our community. That said, it’s not always the most accessible. Come spend an evening learning the basics of Traditional Thai Massage and learn a skill that you can also share with your friends, family, loved ones, and community. We take care of us. And sometimes that looks like being comfort to a sore or hurting body. This is Jessie’s favorite hands on work and she can’t wait to share it with you.

Community Game Night at Cornbread & Roses! 🎲

Join us on Saturday, March 28 from 4–7 PM for a fun, relaxed evening of games and connection. Bring your favorite board or card game to share - or jump in and play from our collection!

We’re excited to launch Community Drop-In Night at Cornbread & Roses!

📅 Friday, March 20
🕔 5–7 PM

This is a relaxed, no-stress space where you can come as you are. Bring a project to work on, body double with others, chat, or just sit and be in community. No expectations—just a welcoming place to spend a couple of hours together.

This six-week group begins on March 28th and will be run by our adolescent therapist, Kassie.
