Dr. Merugu serves as the Medical Director at Divine Rehab and Nursing at Sylvania, a role he has held for the past year. In this position, he is passionate about developing and implementing system-based policy changes that enhance the quality of resident care. He values the collaborative environment at the facility, noting that the support of the Unit Manager and nursing
staff makes his work both efficient and enjoyable.
Dr. Merugu practices out of UTMC and specializes in Geriatrics, a field he finds especially rewarding. He also follows his patients in the hospital setting, ensuring continuity of care. He appreciates the specialty not only for its clinical importance but also for the personal connections
it fosters—he often finds that his patients life stories bring humor and joy to his day.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Merugu enjoys traveling with his family. He and his wife have two young daughters, ages four and six, and they love spending time together on family vacations,
especially in Cancun and along the beaches of Florida.
