Class Descriptions

In all of my classes, we move through an arc as we warm up, work through standing sequences and balance, and then we spend quite a bit of time on the floor deepening our practice and winding down with folds, backbends, and twists. We very frequently incorporate props such as straps, blocks, rings, and bolsters. The lights are usually dimmed for a welcoming atmosphere and the room is warmer to allow a healthy stretch. All classes end in savasana with a lavender eye pillow and relaxing manual adjustment. My goal in every class is to provide a good balance of challenge and relaxation. Yoga
Format depends on the time of day, where early classes include more invigorating flow, and evening classes tend to be a bit more gentle and restorative focusing on deep stretch and relaxation. I pay particular attention to the needs of students during each class, so practice varies by what students hope to work on and accomplish that day. Yoga is YOUR practice. Yogalates
This class is exactly how it sounds: Yoga meets Pilates in a beautiful combination. Class usually starts standing, incorporating a lot of vinyasa flow in the first half, and then we move down to the floor for sculpting pilates calisthenics, many of which are done with props such as rings and bands. All in one class we find stillness, balance and peace in yoga asanas, breathe length into muscles through a flow of challenging movements, and build core strength and flexibility through controlled meaningful calisthenics. Each month I create a new routine and playlist of a selection of music that works beautifully with the pace of the class; a fitting selection of trip hop, groovy electronic, classic rock, and songs of love. As each week of the month progresses, students are able to improve their practice and then start fresh the following month. You will walk out of this class feeling taller, stronger, balanced, more flexible, challenged and proud! Power Yoga
Practiced in a heated room to the sound of the ocean of breath, Power Vinyasa Yoga classes build strength, endurance, focus, balance and flexibility. Throughout class we will put in a lot of work on the Sun A & B series, Warrior series, balance postures, back bends, folds, core work, hip openers, and inversions. A challenge to all skill levels, every yogi leaves with the confidence to continuously take practice to the next level.
