This Easter, we celebrate the greatest act of love in history!

At Spirit of Faith Adoptions, we see small reflections of that same love every day as birth moms courageously choose life and adoptive families open their hearts to welcome children.

We’re grateful to walk alongside each story, trusting that God is at work bringing hope, love, and new beginnings.

Join us on April 13th for “Caring Through a Trauma Lens”, a training designed for foster and adoptive parents.

This session will explore the profound impact that trauma, separation, and loss can have on a child’s development, behavior, and emotional well-being. Together, we will learn to shift the question from “What’s wrong with this child?” to “What has happened to this child?” so we can respond with greater patience, understanding, and compassion.

Another one of our frequently asked questions is around the cost of adoption.

The total cost of a domestic infant adoption can vary based on factors such as insurance, Medicaid coverage, type of adoption, etc.. There are two types of adoption:

💛 Public adoption through foster care, funded by taxpayer dollars
💛 Private adoption, supported through donors, grants, and adoptive family fees

Spirit of Faith Adoptions is a privately licensed adoption agency. Connect with us to learn more about options and support available to your family: https://www.spiritoffaithadoptions.org/lets-connect

We’re so grateful for the relationships we share with pregnancy center partners like Jackie at Ashland Care Center. For over a decade, Jackie has walked alongside women facing unplanned pregnancies with compassion, wisdom, and Christ-centered care.

She believes adoption should always be part of the conversation and has seen firsthand how it can be a hope-filled, life-giving choice. Having a trusted partner like Spirit of Faith Adoptions allows Jackie to confidently connect women with ongoing support, care, and love—before, during, and long after placement.

This is one of the most common questions we’re asked.

The adoption process typically begins with a home study, which takes about 4–9 months to complete. Once the home study is finished, expectant parents review adoptive family profiles and may choose to meet with one or more families.

From there, they may decide to move forward and be matched with the family they feel is the best fit. Many expectant parents begin the adoption planning process around 16–20 weeks of pregnancy.

Rooted in the belief that God has a special heart for adoption, Spirit of Faith Adoptions provides Christ-centered adoption services inspired by our own adoption into God’s family. 💛

We recently hosted our 6th annual Fireweed Retreat, the only Christ-centered retreat welcoming all biological moms from across the country who have courageously chosen adoption for their children. ✨

Women joined us to rest, worship, heal, and experience community with others who understand their journey. We heard story after story of God’s faithfulness. Lives were encouraged, hearts were renewed, and burdens were lifted.

Check out this video to hear firsthand from women who attended.

Meet The Director

Spirit of Faith Adoptions was founded by a Christian attorney, Phillip Wurster after he and his wife, Lisa adopted two children from Russia and one from China into their family. During their travels to Russia, they saw first hand how many children had been orphaned and after much prayer, they both felt lead by God to do more. (James 1:27 to care for widows and orphans in their distress and to keep them from being polluted by the World).

Lisa Wurster formed "Friends of Russian Orphans," a non-profit organization that exists to provide for children's needs in Russian orphanages. Friends of Russian Orphans provides material needs as well as educational programs and financial support. Phillip and Lisa have devoted much of their time, energy and hearts to James 1:27, caring for orphans in their distress.
