On Friday, August 22nd, the highly anticipated rivalry football game between Sylvania Southview High School and Sylvania Northview High School was marked by a special celebration.

Scott Carver, one of ProMedica’s athletic trainers who has been dedicated to Southview’s athletes for the last 24 years, was honored with induction into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The evening was made even more memorable as Scott celebrated his 65th birthday, surrounded by his family who attended the game to commemorate his achievements.

Reflecting on his career, Scott shared: “The most memorable part of my job has been watching kids recover from injuries and seeing the looks of joy on their faces when they return to their sport and they see the support they receive from their teammates, coaches and administrators, and fans.”

Congratulations to ProMedica Flower Hospital employees Tanner Boros, ICU, R.N., on receiving the DAISY Award and Jennifer McAvoy, Environmental Services, on receiving the ROSE Award for the second quarter of 2025!

Tanner was nominated by a family member of a patient, highlighting his kindness and willing to go above and beyond for those in his care. "He allowed us to feel a part of the decision process and we can be a lot. He answered questions and filled requests all hours of the night. And he did it with a caring heart. We want to thank him and to tell him how much he is appreciated.”

Jennifer has been nominated for the ROSE Award more than five times - a testament to her hard work and kindness. "Not only did Jen do a great job keeping my family members room clean each day, but she also asked how she could help me. How kind! I was working hunched over on my computer and she brought me a table to work on. Thank you, Jen!"
