Long Island Geriatric Services began in 2005 from a personal experience with my own mom who was a homebound senior living on Long Island. Mom told me that she did not want to spend her last years in a nursing home. At first we were able to pay privately but as her needs increased due to her deteriorating medical condition, she was unable to afford to pay.
