I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. My husband is from Odessa, Ukraine. My family immigrated to US in 1989 to escape Soviet regime and antisemitism. We went back to Ukraine in 2019 with my kids to show this beautiful country where their parents were born. I came back with mixed emotions. I was sad to see some poor neighborhoods. I was happy to see other neighborhoods being rebuild and preserved, friendly people, always ready to help and very proud to be independent. The last 11 days have been very difficult, it breaks my heart to see innocent people being slaughtered and this beautiful country being destroyed. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Dr. Khalfin is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of the New York Institute of Technology. She continued her education through internships and residencies at the Staten Island University Hospital and North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. She also completed a fellowship program in clinical endocrinology at the New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center.
