✨ Congratulations to our Women Empowerment Movement Cohort Graduates! ✨

Our final graduation of the year was one filled with strength, truth, and transformation. These four incredible women showed up even on the days they didn’t feel like it opened up, faced hard topics, and allowed themselves to grow in vulnerability and purpose. 💜

Through this journey, they worked alongside our Keuka MSW intern, our SU HDFS intern, and Jennifer from House of Psalms 23 with the support of amazing community partners to reconnect with their values, define their career goals, and rediscover their power. 🌿

These ladies have officially completed the Women Empowerment Movement and will transition into Second Chance Sisters this November and trust us, there’s so much more in store for them!

This quarter was special our staff fully led the cohort while I stepped back and watched the process unfold. Seeing our team and interns take full ownership, engage deeply, and apply therapeutic best practices reminded me of the beauty of collective leadership and growth. 💫

✨ Grateful Hearts at HOP23 ✨

A huge thank you to Detective Jessica from Syracuse University Public Safety Department and the incredible Women’s Committee of Justice representing Syracuse Police Department, DeWitt Police Department, and Onondaga County Probation for joining us today at House of Psalms 23 during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Our ladies were truly inspired by your willingness to engage, educate, and share real conversations about the intersection of DV and policing breaking myths, building understanding, and promoting healing through awareness.

We are beyond grateful for the generous donations you brought warm coats, hats, gloves, blankets, comforters, non-perishable foods, and more all arriving right on time as some of our women move into their new homes before winter.

✨Community Connections in Action✨
Today, House of Psalms 23 had the pleasure of attending the OCM BOCES Communication Resource Fair! Our Lead Case Manager, Nicole Odom, and Case Manager & Workshop Facilitator, Jennifer Oxendine, represented us beautifully sharing information about our programs, COVID-19 support services, and the CDC NDPP Wellness Pathways initiative.

With bright smiles and powerful purpose, they connected with 24 students eager to learn about opportunities through HOP23 and community at large. 💜

The mission continues to grow, the reach expands, and the impact is undeniable. Here’s to more collaborations, conversations, and change in our community!

✨ Melodies of Hope🙏🏽 A Night to Remember ✨
Last night in downtown Syracuse, hearts were opened and spirits were lifted. 💜 Our sister, Kayla Skipper, Executive Director & Founder of Brunch and Bible Inc., brought together a room full of survivors and allies united in love, healing, and hope.

Tears were shed, empowerment was shared, and courage filled the air. 🕊️ Stories were told, art came alive, and healing moved through the room.

House of Psalms 23 is so proud of you, Kayla, for creating a space where voices could rise and people could feel seen. 💫 Special love to Jennifer Oxendine and Marissa Saunders, members of our HOP23 team, who shared their stories with such grace and strength. You are beautiful, bold, and powerful beyond measure.

To every woman and man who stood tall that night you are the melody of hope. 🎶💜

✨ We’re excited to share that the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety’s Women in Law Enforcement Peer Mentor Group is partnering with House of Psalms 23, Inc. this October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) 💜

Together, we’re hosting a Donation Drive to support survivors in need this winter helping provide warmth, comfort, and hope. 💫

🧥 Items needed include coats, blankets, household goods, and non-perishable food items.
📍 Drop off donations at Detective Zaccari’s Office, DPS (130 College Place, Sims Hall)
📅 Now through October 31st

✨ Healthy Living in Action ✨
We’re rolling strong into Weeks 4 & 5 of our CDC T2 National Diabetes Prevention Program led by our amazing Certified Lifestyle Coach, Nicole Odom! 💪🏽

Every Saturday, women in our House of Psalms 23 x CDC NDPP program are not only learning about healthy habits, they’re living them. From juicing with fresh fruits 🍎🥕 and spices like ginger 🌿, to exploring balanced meals and mindful movement, this journey is about transformation from the inside out.

A huge thank you to our Syracuse University Public Health interns for always showing up ready to learn, lead, and pour into our community with heart and hands on support. 💜

🎉 What an amazing time at the Annual Syracuse University Career Fair! 🎉

This marks our second year participating, and we are always grateful for the collaboration. The students produced by Syracuse University are nothing short of remarkable…..the interns who have joined us through this partnership have been invaluable to House of Psalms 23, helping us expand our reach, build stronger programs, and serve our community with excellence. 🙌

A special shoutout to Jennifer Oxendine for showing up strong and representing our agency, and to our interns for spreading awareness of HOP23’s mission with passion and energy. 💛

We love being part of this network of learning, growth, and community impact and we can’t wait to see the bright futures ahead for these students! 🚀✨

✨ Today House of Psalms 23 participants took action in downtown Syracuse! ✨

As part of our annual COVID-19 awareness outreach, our Women Empowerment participants assembled and handed out 50 bags filled with masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, precautionary facts, and even their own handmade baked goods. 🧁💛

This project was made possible through the generous support of the Women’s Fund of CNY and NYS DOH HRI Grant thank you for investing in opportunities for our participants to give back and educate the community. 💐

We’re so proud of our women for stepping up to protect, inform, and empower our neighbors! Thank you to our Syracuse University and Keuka College interns!

We’re beyond excited to welcome you back into our newly refreshed store at 224 Harrison Street, Syracuse! Thank you to our Board of Directors, especially Deanna Wolf, whose beautiful artwork and inspiration helped us re-envision and revamp the space.
