Why sing?
When our body feels (understandably) unsafe, we are thrown into fight, flight, or freeze, and our system can stay stuck in this response.
Singing offers regulation, rest and connection as a form of resistance.
Through moving, breathing, singing, we can activate and tone the vagus nerve. This nerve is the superhighway through our body, sending signals of danger or safety.
Using music strategies we can turn off the adrenaline tap, release much-needed serotonin & dopamine through our systems, and come back into a regulated state.
Here is where we can begin to think more clearly!
Here is where we can strategize!
Here is where we can connect with one another and combat the separation and stuck-ness, which leads to us isolating.
Let’s sing together!
Let’s gather and co-regulate!
Let’s build resilience for the challenges that lay before us!
