Here at The Hearth on James today we are gearing up for a second annual festival of trees event how are you? December 13th from 4 to 7. join us for this family friendly event. Drinks, hors d’oeuvres, pictures with Santa and the Grinch. Chance to bid on some beautifully decorated trees, which responsible by local families and businesses. All proceeds will go to benefit the greater Syracuse meals on wheels. Bring your staff, friends and family RSVPs are not necessary. We hope to see you here.

Recently, Some of the Directors at The Hearth on James hosted a few Social Workers and VA Hospital Staff to a night out at Syracuse University for a Basketball game between Syracuse and Colgate. Everyone enjoyed a thrilling game where the Orange came back to win. Those in attendance shared a fun night while eating, laughing and meeting Otto.

On Thursday, The Hearth on James Veteran residences celebrated an early Veterans Day luncheon. Veterans, both men and women were greeted by the Mattydale colorguard to present the colors along with the national anthem. Veterans also participated in a pinning ceremony where the Hearth on James Executive Director Torre Parker-Lane, pinned each Veteran and thanked them for their service to our country. Those in attendance were served by the staff, a Buffet of roast beef, potatoes, green beans, rolls, and apple pie, a fun time was had by all.

Every year we recognize our dedicated, compassionate team members for their outstanding customer service. This year, we recognized Michelle, a member of our housekeeping team, for her 15 years of service at The Hearth! We also recognized Tah-Reek, a member of our kitchen team, with a Golden Heart Award. The Golden Heart Award is presented to team members who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care to our residents. Congratulations, Tah-Reek! We appreciate you!
