We are excited to share that Governor Kathy Hochul has proclaimed September as New York State Recovery Month. On Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, some of New York’s most iconic landmarks will be lit up purple in honor of Recovery Month. This statewide lighting serves as a powerful reminder that recovery is real, possible, and worth celebrating.

The following landmarks will be lit:
1WTC
Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
Kosciuszko Bridge
The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building
State Education Building
Alfred E. Smith State Office Building
Empire State Plaza
State Fairgrounds – Main Gate & Expo Center
Niagara Falls
The “Franklin D. Roosevelt” Mid-Hudson Bridge
Grand Central Terminal - Pershing Square Viaduct
Albany International Airport Gateway
MTA LIRR - East End Gateway at Penn Station
Fairport Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal
Moynihan Train Hall
Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park

If you see any of these landmarks glowing purple, we’d love for you to snap a photo and send it to communications@oasas.ny.gov.
