Join our dedicated healthcare team at our Community Campus! Our CG-4W-MED/SURG department is currently looking for a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant. If you have a passion for patient care and are ready to make a difference, we want to hear from you!

As a Medical Assistant, you will perform clinical, laboratory, and clerical support activities in the inpatient care areas. You will assist physicians and medical personnel in providing patient care, preparing patients for procedures, recording vital patient data, and performing routine laboratory tasks such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, and specimen processing. Additionally, you will handle clerical duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing medical data.

Do you have one year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting?

SUNY Upstate’s Nursing-Pediatric Specialty Center is currently seeking qualified candidates who are interested in a full-time, Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 opportunity. New York State has waived the civil service exam for this title, so if you are interested now is the time to act!

The primary function of this position is to float to all Pediatric Ambulatory Services areas as assigned to provide clerical support; performing all front desk functions as necessary. Duties include but are not limited to patient registration in EPIC, patient check in and check out, obtaining insurance cards, signatures on consent forms, and co-pay collection. Obtain authorizations and schedule ancillary tests and procedures for patients, answer clinic phones, identify sort and file incoming chart documentation, be able to communicate effectively to transfer information as well as complete a variety of tasks within a given timeframe while maintaining patient confidentiality. New patient intake per department guidelines. Miscellaneous duties include mail and fax distribution and other clerical duties as required.

The annual base salary for this title is $38,235. In addition, full-time positions qualify for outstanding benefits, including: health insurance, dental/vision, sick leave, vacation and personal time, and a NYS retirement pension plan.
