Elmcrest is proud and honored to be a recipient of Romano Toyota Holiday Hope Project.

This generous support will help strengthen our Transition to Independence Program, which serves residential youth aging out of foster care by providing work readiness, vocational training, mentoring, life skills development, and aftercare support. These resources play a critical role in helping young people build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for adulthood.

When Matthew came to Elmcrest, he was just a child who had already endured more pain than most face in a lifetime. Angry and scared, he was sure no one could love him, until Elmcrest saw more than a “case file.” We saw him, a boy who deserved to heal, grow, and believe in himself again.

Through caring staff and programs like our Family Support Center and Residential Services, Matthew found safety, stability, and hope. Today, he’s 29, owns a home, has two amazing dogs, and is studying Marriage and Family Therapy, determined to give back the way Elmcrest gave to him.

On December 5, 2025, our Sedgwick Farm Neighbors Facebook Group friends once again came together for our annual Christmas giving, bringing joy and holiday spirit to 46 amazing children at Elmcrest.

Our wonderful Sedgwick Elves, Jen Schultz, Jennifer Granbois, and Gina McClurkin, visited Elmcrest to deliver gifts to each child. Every package was filled with love and essentials, including blankets, socks, winter hats, gloves, hygiene products, drink tumblers, purses, games, toys, activity sets, and more!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this season a little warmer and more magical for the children of Elmcrest! 🌟

In the Spring and Fall of 2025, more than 50 Elmcrest supervisors completed the Leadership Foundations training program, a blended learning experience designed to strengthen leadership skills across the organization. The program combined classroom instruction, self-paced modules on Paycom, and meaningful interaction with participants.

Congratulations to all supervisors who completed Leadership Foundations in 2025. Your commitment to professional development supports a stronger, more effective Elmcrest.

Harvest Moon Holiday Market Returns for Its Third Year
Kick off the holiday season at the Harvest Moon Holiday Market, November 7–9 at Crazy Daisies in Syracuse. Enjoy a weekend of festive shopping with more than 40 local artists, makers, and boutiques—all supporting the mission of Elmcrest Children’s Center.

VIP Opening Night – Friday, November 7 | 6–8 PM
Light bites, live music, and first access to all vendors. Tickets $50.

Public Market – Saturday, November 8 (10–5) & Sunday, November 9 (10–4)
$10 admission at the door.
