Meet Our Team | Suzanne Volcko is a nurse practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience. She is passionate about helping her patients improve their overall health and directing them toward their reproductive health goals.

Suzanne handles up to 20 beds at a time with patients who need intensive care, as well as overseeing students’ activities on the floor.

Suzanne is eager to provide thoughtful, patient-centered care that meets you where you are.

Physician Spotlight | Dr. Katherine Frega graduated summa cm lade from Syracuse University in 2016 and earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2020. She has been serving as a captain for the US Army Reserve since 2021 and was appointed to the SUNY Upstate Department of OB/GYN as a clinical assistant professor after completing residency in 2024.

Dr. Frega’s clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecology surgery, infertility, and pediatric/adolescent gynecology.

Meet Our Team | Mary Kendt, CNM, joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Upstate in January 2025. She earned her nursing degree from St. John Fisher University in 2020 and subsequently pursued a master’s degree in nurse-midwifery at Stony Brook University.

Board-certified since 2024, Mary has worked in labor and delivery as a registered nurse, gaining extensive hands-on experience in caring for women through all stages of childbirth.

Mary is deeply passionate about providing comprehensive, nonjudgmental care. She believes in building strong partnerships with her patients, empowering them to play an active role in their health.
