May is Trauma Awareness Month!
It’s our busiest and most meaningful time of the year here at Upstate Trauma. This month, we’re hitting the ground running with a full schedule dedicated to injury prevention, education, and appreciation for those who care for our trauma patients every day.
📚 Let’s Not Meet By Accident school programs are taking place across multiple counties—teaching high school students the real-life impact of distracted and impaired driving.
🩸 Stop the Bleed training sessions will be held throughout the community, including a special session for Walker Tree Care’s Roots and Boots.
🎉 We’re also hosting TraumaFest on May 19th- our internal appreciation celebration for the incredible teams across Upstate—and beyond—who provide life-saving trauma care 24/7.
💙 National Trauma Survivors Day- May 20th, highlights the importance of recovery beyond the physical injury. At Upstate, we are committed to supporting the full continuum of healing—physical, emotional, and psychological.
We are proud to recognize our survivors and amplify their voices as we continue to strengthen trauma-informed, patient-centered care.
Let’s work together this May to raise awareness, save lives, and celebrate the heroes behind the scenes.
Please note: the individuals shown in simulated trauma scenes are not real victims. These are actors participating in mass casualty training drills held at local school districts.
