✉️ EMAIL YOUR LEGISLATORS TODAY ✉️

Budget decisions are happening now—and your voice can make the difference.

Tell your legislators:
New York must include a 4% Targeted Inflationary Increase to stabilize services for people with disabilities and sustain the workforce that supports them.

Without action, programs will continue to face staffing shortages, rising costs, and service disruptions.

"Behind every service for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a workforce that makes independence, dignity, and community possible.

Right now, that system is under real strain.

As New York finalizes its budget, lawmakers have a clear choice:
➡️ Invest in stability
➡️ Or risk further disruptions to essential care

A 4% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII) is a critical step to help providers keep up with rising costs, support staff, and ensure services remain available for those who depend on them.

"📢 TAKE ACTION TODAY 📢

Lawmakers need to hear from you right now.

Post on social media and tag your State Senator and Assemblymember. Tell them to include a full 4% Targeted Inflationary Increase in the final budget.

Sample message:
New Yorkers with disabilities depend on a stable care system. The final budget must include a full 4% TII to support services and the workforce. Act now.

Every voice matters. Make yours heard today."

ALL this week, AccessCNY is participating in a surge of social media posts to show our urgency for NYS legislators to . Read more below!

Without a 4% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII), nonprofit providers cannot sustain the essential services that New Yorkers with intellectual and developmental disabilities rely on every day.

And we know one thing clearly: investment works.

Recent state funding has already made a real impact:
⬇️ 44% decrease in DSP vacancies
⬇️ 6% reduction in staff turnover
⬆️ 28.6% increase in starting wages

This progress matters—but it’s fragile.

We cannot afford to lose the ground we’ve gained. Sustained investment is the only way to keep up with rising costs, support the workforce, and ensure quality, person-centered care.

Now is the time to continue moving forward—not backward.
