At Madrona, we ❤️ fiber! It is essential to helping you regulate your bowel movements and prevent straining, which can lead some pretty uncomfortable symptoms. In this video, Michelle Walz, PT, MPT shares with us her favorite tasty ways to incorporate fiber into her diet.
We tend to think of prunes as something that those with grey hair, like Michelle says, really enjoy but they are definitely making a come back with the younger crowd who are often searching for less processed, whole foods to add to a healthy diet.
💜Not only are prunes sweet and tasty, but they have a whopping 7g of fiber per 100g of prunes! They offer a mix of both soluble and non-soluble fiber which are essential to healthy bowels.
🍿Popcorn is an excellent, nutrient dense source of dietary fiber! A 3-cup serving of air-popped popcorn has ~3.5-5g of fiber which is about 15% of our daily recommended fiber intake.
If you add a bit of nutritional yeast per Michelle, that adds an additional protein and fiber boost (plus a yummy, cheesy flavor) making this snack that much better, and satisfying.
