What I was taught in medical school basically amounts to hormones are evil, and I should only ever be taking women off of them. Yes, they might hate me, but I need to do what's in their best interest.

I'm sorry. All I can say to all of those women I inadvertently harmed is that I've continued to learn, and as I know better I do better. And you deserve another chat with a doctor who is educating himself/herself on this topic because anyone who started medical school at around or after the time of the WHI has been miseducated.

Nearly every single one of us will struggle physically and mentally during our lifetime. And while we are likely to recognize and seek help when our physical selves aren’t functioning optimally, we are much less likely to recognize and seek help when our mental health is suffering.

It’s ok to not be ok.
It’s also ok to want to be ok.
It’s ok to ask for help.
