After being diagnosed with Hashimotos, an autoimmune condition when your thyroid is under attack by your own immune system, I was faced with major life decisions….take a prescription for the rest of my life to mask the symptoms or address the ROOT CAUSE and regulate the disfunction happening in my body’s system.

With over 20 years of experience in the holistic wellness realm, I chose to address the root causes and face the reality of what was happening. I was vegetarian for 20 years and vegan for 7 and over time, my body stopped producing enough stomach acid to properly break down my food and absorb any nutrients. So, although I was eating clean and nutritious food, I was malnourished because I was not absorbing the nutrients 🤯

Feeling like my world was crashing down around me, questioning everything I ever knew about nutrition and quite frankly losing my identity, I realized my wellbeing was in jeopardy and I needed to take drastic measures.

Giving myself grace and permission to pivot into my next “nuYOU” journey, I started introducing animal protein into my diet with a focus on gut healing bone broth and high quality foods to help repair my gut. I helped regulate my nervous system by taking Epsom salt/ baking soda baths at least 4 times a week, started wearing light technology patches called LifeWave to help my body produce copper peptides and stimulate my own stem cells, drinking mineral rich water, change all of my skincare and beauty products to be 100% non-toxic, refined my sleep habits and started to say no and have more boundaries to help reduce stress levels.

With 3 years of implementation of these major lifestyle changes and a shift in my mindset, I have been able to pull myself through one of the darkest periods of my life. It was hard to even talk about what I was going through for a long time and I hid it very well from the general public. Always choose yourself first 💚

Hydration isn’t just about thirst — it’s about how you’ll feel later.

Early signs of dehydration:

• Fatigue or low energy
• Headaches or brain fog
• Dry lips/skin
• Dark urine
• Muscle cramps
• Mood shifts or irritability

Winter hydration tips:

• Drink water even when you’re not thirsty
• Add minerals or a pinch of sea salt
• Choose warm fluids (herbal teas, broths)
• Eat water-rich foods (soups, citrus, cooked veggies)
• Start your morning with a glass of water

Cold weather doesn’t mean your body needs less water — it means it needs more intention.

Sip this soothing holiday tea to calm your gut and your mind 🤗

Try this tea tonight and comment your favorite holiday drink 🎄🫖🧉☕️

GUT-FRIENDLY HOLIDAY DIGESTIVE TEA
Warm • Calming • Bloat-Reducing

Ingredients:
💦 1 cup water OR
🥥 1 cup unsweetened coconut or almond milk
🫚3–4 fresh ginger slices
✔️ 1 cinnamon stick
🟤 2–3 whole cloves
⭐ 1 star anise (optional)
🌱 ½ tsp fennel seeds
🍊 ½ tsp orange zest
🍁 1 tsp maple syrup
🧂 Tiny pinch of sea salt

Directions:
1️⃣ Add all ingredients to a small pot.
2️⃣ Bring to a gentle boil.
3️⃣ Reduce heat and simmer 10–12 minutes.
4️⃣ Strain into your favorite mug.
5️⃣ Sweeten lightly if desired.

For over 20 years I have eaten plant based and have gone through many trials and tribulations of my own regarding health.
