“A body in motion stays in motion; a body at rest stays at rest” - Sir Isaac Newton
Life is busy and for a lot of us, fitting in activity can be so difficult! Here are a few ideas to keep your body moving and your spine healthy!
1. Take Short Breaks: Set a timer to remind yourself to stand up and stretch or walk around every hour.
2. Desk Exercises: Incorporate simple exercises like seated leg lifts, desk push-ups, or shoulder shrugs while you work.
3. Walking Meetings: Suggest walking meetings instead of sitting in a conference room.
4. Use a Standing Desk: If possible, alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day.
5. Stairs Instead of Elevators: Opt for stairs whenever you can, even if it’s just a few flights.
6. Lunchtime Walks: Take a brisk walk during your lunch break to get some fresh air and clear your mind.
7. Fit in Mini Workouts: Try short workout videos during breaks or after work, like yoga or bodyweight exercises.
8. Stretching Routine: Develop a quick stretching routine you can do at your desk to relieve tension.
9. Active Commute: If feasible, walk or bike to work, or park farther away to increase your daily steps.
10 Join a Class or Group: Look for local fitness classes or groups to join after work for a fun way to stay active.
Incorporating even a few of these ideas can make a big difference in your activity levels!
