It hits differently when you spent most of your adult life believing this kind of love wasn't for you.

We both endured so much pain on the road to this moment. We both experienced so much grief. When I look through these photos (which I've done about 1.3 million times this week), I see not only the joy and intensity of our love but also the broken path that got us here. I see us choosing ourselves, each other, and this messy family of ours despite the chaos, exhaustion, and baggage.

Yes, this love hits differently, indeed.
iv , I'd stay up all night to climb mountains in the freezing cold and confess my love to you at sunrise for a million lifetimes.

I completed my 39th circle around the sun on Saturday! I was sick with food poisoning and spent the day in bed with my animals while .iv wrangled our 4 wild ones. What a weird way to spend my birthday after I had one of the most profound years of my life.

What I used to think were my broken pieces I now know are the most powerful parts of me. My intuition, my ability to hold others emotions while learning to not blur the lines between empathy and co-dependency, my curiosity when my shadow self reacts, the level of intimacy I desire, my deep connection to non-human creatures, my ability to read the energy of a room and know if I need to amor up, soften, or leave, my courage to set boundaries to stand up for myself and my family...

I look forward to this last year of my 30's and feel confident that I will deepen my roots and become more and more or who I am and who I am to become.

Yesterday Chaco and I were attacked by a swarm of wasps. It was really painful and scary. We both got stung a lot. We're okay though (just really itchy today) and George avenged us and made me laugh.

.iv is forever stepping in to support me and give me relief from whatever hard thing I'm doing (usually parenting). He knows me so well and always knows the exact right moment to step up. It makes life so much less scary knowing he has my back 100%.
