Kirtan with Rob and Melissa
Sunday, December 7th, 4-6pm

Kirtan—call-and-response chanting—is the devotional heart of Bhakti Yoga.

Rob and Melissa bring a fresh, heartfelt voice to this timeless practice, weaving sacred Sanskrit mantras with modern, accessible melodies and lush harmonies. Described as ā€œjoyful medicine,ā€ ā€œheart-opening bliss,ā€ and ā€œlove and devotion materialized,ā€ their music creates a sacred space for connection, celebration, and deep presence.

Whether you’re new to chanting or a lifelong Bhakta, Rob and Melissa create a warm, welcoming container where joy, connection, and divine love are always present. Each gathering is a celebration—a chance to sing, open your heart, and be part of something beautiful.

Based in the Seattle area, they travel widely, offering kirtans, workshops, and retreats across the U.S. and beyond. Their music and teachings have been featured at Bhakti Fest, Shakti Fest, Bend Yoga Festival, and the Northwest Yoga Feast.

Join Andrea for an evening of slowing down, listening inward, and reconnecting with yourself in a gentle, loving way.

We’ll begin by finding a supportive yoga posture to rest in, setting an intention and opening to the practice. Andrea will guide you through a restorative sound meditation with Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other soothing instruments. Explore body mapping and guided meditation, an invitation
to journal or just be.

We’ll close with a warm cup of grounding tea and connection in community.

No experience is needed—just come as you are. This is a space to rest, to feel, and to honor the story your body holds.

Posted • ā¤ļøā¤ļø Self-compassion is a powerful practice that can transform how we relate to ourselves. Here are six simple yet profound ways to bring more kindness and care into your life:
慤
1ļøāƒ£ Ask yourself, ā€˜What do I need?’: Pause for a moment and check in. Do you need rest, reassurance, movement, or connection? Listening to yourself with curiosity and care is a powerful act of self-compassion.
慤
2ļøāƒ£ Treat Yourself Like a Friend: Speak to yourself with the same kindness and understanding you’d offer a dear friend.
慤
3ļøāƒ£ Supportive Touch: A gentle hand on your heart or a comforting self-hug can soothe and ground you in moments of distress.
慤
4ļøāƒ£ Write a Self-Compassionate Letter: Put pen to paper and offer yourself words of comfort and encouragement, just as you would to someone you love.
慤
5ļøāƒ£ Remember You Aren’t Alone: It’s important to acknowledge that we all face challenges—this imperfection is what makes us human.
慤
6ļøāƒ£ Use a Warm Inner Tone of Voice: Try to adopt a gentle tone with yourself, especially when things go wrong. Practice patience, understanding, and warmth toward yourself.

Poem from Erin’s Thanksgiving class this morning:

Thank You
BY ROSS GAY
If you find yourself half naked
and barefoot in the frosty grass, hearing,
again, the earth's great, sonorous moan that says
you are the air of the now and gone, that says
all you love will turn to dust,
and will meet you there, do not
raise your fist. Do not raise
your small voice against it. And do not
take cover. Instead, curl your toes
into the grass, watch the cloud
ascending from your lips. Walk
through the garden's dormant splendor.
Say only, thank you.
Thank you.

Try a hug today.

A joyous Happy Birthday to Source teacher Rosie Townsend! If you have not experienced meeting Rosie in person, please do so!! She is truly the embodiment of sunlight as it shines down on this great green earth to kindly and encouragingly whisper, "grow! breathe! live!". Rosie seems to live life with unabashed joy, honesty, and ease. Her Thursday Gentle Yoga classes are a mid-week, mini-retreat for ALL who are fortunate to be in her care. Thank you, Rosie, for shining your bright light with us all! May your day be filled with both inner and outer sunshine. Happy Birthday!
