Why does plantar fasciitis keep coming back?

Because in many cases… it’s not really “fasciitis” anymore.

Once symptoms persist, the tissue often shifts from an inflammatory process → to degeneration (plantar fasciosis):

• Disorganized collagen
• Microtearing at the heel
• Thickened, poorly functioning fascia

That’s why many people plateau with:
– stretching
– orthotics
– rest

These can reduce strain… but they don’t restore tissue health.

This is where diagnostic ultrasound changes the game:

✔️ You can actually see the tissue
✔️ Identify degeneration vs irritation
✔️ Guide treatment with precision

From there, treatments like PRP or prolotherapy are used to support healing—not just suppress symptoms.
