I remember Sister Peg encouraging me in my practice as Catherine Place first hired me to run an in-house community clinic. The way they exemplified compassion for their clients inspired the path I'm on today. Thank you Sister Peg for creating such a beautiful program that fed my soul. May you rest peacefully knowing the wide web of your influence and love.

Catherine Place's founding Executive Director, Sr. Margaret 'Peg' Murphy, has passed from this life. She was a woman of many gifts, who brought joy and compassion to everyone she met. The board and staff of Catherine Place are filled with gratitude for being a part of her work in this world. We hope that those whose lives she touched will consider sharing their stories here so we can honor her memory together.

‘Dope is Death’ is available to stream for free on Kanopy. You can get a free subscription through the library! It was a huge inspiration for the birth of our Connect Community Clinic 💜

In honor of Black History month, let’s shine a light on a connection of acupuncture and the Black Panthers!
The NADA protocol, an ear acupuncture intervention for trauma, substance abuse, and related mental health conditions has its roots with the Black Panthers and Young Lords. This protocol originated in the Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx in the 70s, born out of community empowerment as an alternative method of drug addiction treatment. This protocol is used by practitioners world wide and by organizations such as Acupuncturists without Borders.

✨ Hey y’all…We’ve missed you and are excited to welcome everyone back in.

✨ There is so much happening around us, in our communities, in our world. Many of us are feeling big, collective grief. Let’s gather and heal together.

✨ We shouldn’t have to heal alone, and maybe I’ll even say that we can’t heal in isolation. We need support, and that’s okay. We’re needy, imperfect humans, and that’s okay too.

✨ All proceeds 💯% of treatment donations are still supporting the family of Manny Ellis until ALL courts have spoken.

Y’all, this has been a wild month and my lateness of posting this absolutely reflects that energy! Thank you for being patient with me.

❄️How are you doing? Are you finding time to nestle into the stillness of winter? Is the hustle and bustle whipping you around? Does this season bring you joy? Is it a tender time for your heart?

❄️Wherever you are, we’ll meet you here on Dec 18th, with a cup of cocoa, marshmallows, and a candy cane too if you’re into that sort of thing (I am!). We’ll be offering acupuncture from myself and and Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health PT with .sullivan.50 .

🍁November Connect Community Clinic🍁

Massage! Linktree! Yes! Your eyes are not fooling you!

We have a new fantastic offering this month from Rio with Marigold Massage: donation-based 30 minute massages! These will be walk-in based and there will be a sign up sheet at the front desk. 5 slots will be offered on a first come, first served basis, starting at 4:30pm.

There are now Linktree shortcuts to schedule appointments with Dr Ari and Dr Anna in my bio…(I did it! I did a Linktree!)

There will be just one Community Clinic date in December, so get in your yummy self care before the holiday busyness is in full force.

Be kind to one another out there. Let’s take care of each other where we can. Love and Gratitude for you all. Without you, there would be no need for us. Rest well and we’ll see you real soon x

Set your calendar reminders for three awesome days of donation based community care in October. The weather is transitioning and I feel like there are underlying PNW feelings of both ‘It’s Fall Y’all!’ AND ‘@*!>%, here we go again’. No matter your excitement for the current weather patterns, our bodies are feeling the changes and can always use the support.

Turn on the stove, make those soups, grill those veggies, put on your favorite sweater and sip that tea. Let us be a part of your soggy season self-care!
