Hearthside Manor provides care for those residents with varying degrees of memory loss in a secure a We view each day as a treasure hunt.

Our vision in Memory Care is twofold; to keep each senior functioning at their highest possible level and to provide life enrichment every day. Regardless of the care model in place, it is ultimately the caregiver that makes the real difference. Our caregivers have the right heart, the right mindset, and the needed compassion to truly provide memory care. Every one of our residents has treasures that have been buried by dementia, and our job is to uncover them by getting to know who our residents are and were, and to understand their reality. Our model of care creates an environmental that significantly reduces the fear, frustration, agitation and anxiety that normally results from memory loss. Our Caring Places strives to maintain the leading edge and set the industry standard for specialized dementia care. We do this by keeping abreast of industry research and development, by providing continuing education and implementing a care approach which is focused on the individual. Hearthside Manor provides a comfortable home environment with down-home cooking, great activity program, a large secure outdoor area and a lot of love. We have 36 private bedrooms for our residents. We are located right next door to the Fire/ Police Station in University Place just off of 37th Street West and Bridgeport Way. We offer the following services:
- Private bedrooms

- Family style dining

- Caring staff who know dementia

- Individualized service plans

- Community living areas with fireplaces/TV

- Early to Late Stage Dementia

Gracie the Goldendoodle stops by for a visit every week to spread love and joy to all of our Residents! It will fill your heart with so much joy to see their faces light up when she walks through their door!

Today and every day, we are devoted to all of those living with, caring for, or affected by Alzheimer’s. We will continue our mission in raising awareness for Dementia and fighting for a cure. Hearthside Manor, Cascade Place and San Juan Villa joined forces today as we passed out refreshments to the participants of the Pierce County Walk to end Alzheimer’s 2025! It was an inspiring day, with hundreds of people uniting for the cause!
If you would like to learn more about ways you can help donate time or resources to the Alzheimer’s Association, please feel free to stop into one of our communities, we would be honored to have you join the fight! 💜

There’s never a dull moment here at Hearthside! From birthday celebrations and scenic bus rides, to ice cream socials and quiet evenings by the fire, our Residents are sure to get the most out of each day!

Another scenic drive here at Hearthside! We had a full bus on this sunny Autumn day! We toured the Pt. Defiance 5 mile drive, Ruston Way waterfront, and the beautiful, historic homes of N. Tacoma!

This week, we celebrate National Assisted Living week! We celebrate our wonderful, dedicated team here at Hearthside Manor Memory Care! They are some of the kindest, most invested group of people, who do amazing work caring for our Residents. From the Care team to the Maintenance and Housekeeping team, from our Activities dept to our Administrative Staff, please join me in thanking them for the amazing team they are and compassionate care they provide!

Our Residents recently took a trip out to the Tacoma Glass Museum! From start to finish, they got to see first hand how some of the most beautiful glasswork is created.

When you walk through our hallways here at Hearthside Manor, and you hear the laughter, you see the friendships that have been formed…you smell the freshly baked cookies and coffee coming from the Activities department; you feel the warmth and compassion coming from our dedicated team, it reminds us all that life doesn’t end when your loved one begins navigating Dementia. From our weekly live musical entertainment and milestone birthday celebrations, to the Day trips on our bus and our gardening club tending to their flowers, we are here to prove that life can still be just as wonderful, no matter the circumstances, when you are in a caring place, among friends!
We are looking forward to many more great activities and celebrations this Summer!

Here at Hearthside Manor, some of our Residents like to set aside time each week to share in their faith together, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness! Our Life Enrichment Coordinator, Natasha, knows each of her Residents very well and that allows her to build an Activity Calendar with their specific interests in mind! Next up, a delicious lunch followed by Crafting corner!
