On October 11, our community came together to celebrate HopeSparks 130th Anniversary Gala!

The room was abuzz with joy, hope, and connection as friends, partners, and supporters joined in an unforgettable evening of purpose and celebration.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, raised a paddle, sponsored, volunteered, donated, or cheered us on from afar. Your kindness and generosity made this milestone truly special and ensure that children and families in our community continue to feel supported and seen.

Because of you, we raised more than $400,000 to support HopeSparks programs for children and families!

If you couldn’t attend, or just want to keep the celebration going, there’s still time to make an impact. Every gift, big or small, helps families find hope, healing, and strength when they need it most.

Because of our amazing donors, volunteers, and community partners, hundreds of kids are starting the school year prepared and confident! Together we gave out:

📚 830 backpacks
🧥 265 coats
🧢 Hats, gloves & scarves to keep kids warm

We’re so grateful to have partnered with Innovative Change Makers, A Step Ahead, Lincoln High School, and Tacoma Community College Early Learning Center to get these supplies into the hands of students who need them most. 💙

A huge thank you to the amazing Insperity Team for coming in to put together birthday kits for HopeSparks kids and families! We had so much fun with you, and we can’t wait to start passing them out. These kits are going to create some very happy memories and bring so much joy.

HopesCloset is in need of household cleaners to help the children and families we serve keep their homes safe, healthy, and welcoming.

Next time you’re out shopping, would you consider picking up an extra bottle of:

All-purpose cleaner
Dish soap
Bathroom cleaner
Laundry detergent

Donations can be dropped off at our HopeSparks 9th Street office during the hours of 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The address is 6424 N 9th St, Tacoma, WA 98406.

A huge shoutout to Team Kitsap Bank!

Yesterday afternoon, 20 of their incredible team members rolled up their sleeves and spent their Volunteer Day of Service with us, sorting, organizing, and packing school supplies into backpacks for the kids in our HopeSparks programs.

Their energy, heart, and teamwork made a big impact. Thanks to them, dozens of children will start the school year with the tools they need and the confidence that their community is cheering them on.

Kitsap Bank, you didn’t just fill backpacks, you filled hearts. Thank you for being part of the HopeSparks family and for showing up in such a big way!

Community, Creativity, and Compassion in Action

We are so honored to be the focus of this summer’s service learning project by Arts Connect, an arts enrichment and life skills program of Hilltop Artist (). Each quarter, participants choose a way to give back, and this summer, they chose HopesCloset. 💙

In June, these incredible young artists collected and donated much-needed items for the families we serve. Their words say it best:

🖌️ “We chose to support HopesCloset because helping people is a team effort—and we wanted to be part of that.”

🖌️ “The donation drive is important to me since our community has a lot of people in need. I’m grateful to be a part of this program.”
