During the 4th of July week, some dogs are very fearful of the loud noises. Case in point my dog heard a VERY loud M80 go off and he literally ran and jumped into the tub! He stayed in there shaking all night. Here are some tips to keep you dog calmer and safer. Happy 4th to all!

According to the Red Cross, the safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a public fireworks show put on by professionals. If the lake or beach is your destination, be mindful that the water is still very cold. Hyperthermia can set in quickly. DEHYDRATION IN THE ELDERLY - CAUSE AND PREVENTION

The Pacific Northwest is in for a warm one today. Make sure you are drinking enough water, even if you don't feel thirsty. It can creep up on you.

Signs of dehydration include:
Feeling unquenchable thirst, Few or no tears, Dry, sticky mouth, Not urinating frequently, Dark-colored urine, Unexplained tiredness, Feeling dizzy or lightheaded, Confusion.
Please be mindful for you and your loved ones.

May is Stroke Awareness Month.
Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, according to the American Stroke Association. Tacoma Nursing and Rehabilitation SNF provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy 7 days a week. Consistent therapy generally leads to better outcomes.
