It’s our 4th birthday!! And, what a ride it’s been! 🥳🎉
Year 1: We spent our first year nomadic, teaching at nature and community spaces.
Year 2: We became studio owners! We opened our minimalist studio in the basement of Courthouse Square and offered 20 + classes a week with a sliding- scale pricing ( $10, $5 or good vibes).
Year 3: In 2020, we shifted to content creators as we moved online due to the pandemic. We did not teach any in person classes this year.
Year 4: Erica joined Casey as co-owner and we’ve gone back to our roots as a nomadic business.
We have continued to pivot and
shift while navigating a business during a pandemic. We are so grateful for your support!
“From Greta Thunberg to Sir David Attenborough, the headline-grabbing climate change activists and environmentalists of today are predominantly white. But like many areas of society, those whose voices are heard most often are not necessarily representative of the whole.”

“Solitude is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only being who knows he is alone.” - Octavio Paz, The Labyrinth of Solitude
Try spending a little time alone in nature.
Walk slowly and mindfully. Feel your feet touch the earth.
Let your awareness broaden to encompass the entire space surrounding you.
Listen to the land and allow yourself to be drawn to whatever pulls you in the landscape.
When something draws your attention, stop and give your whole attention to it.
Take time to reflect on how it feels to be alone in nature.

The wonderful thing about a park is that it’s there when no one else is✨ which park do you enjoy visiting the most when you’re alone? #Solitude

Starting this month, we’ll be adding new content to our YouTube channel. If you were a Yoga Wild On-Demand member you’ll recognize these classes 😉
We used to film content on Sunday in our studio. Although these were long days, we had a lot of fun. Here’s a short blooper reel of Casey from last winter.
While we are in the slower season of our teaching schedule, know that you can continue practicing with us on YouTube and attend our classes at @fosswaterwayseaport and @tacomaartmuseum. More in-person classes to come spring and summer!
See you in the new year! We (Casey and Erica) are stepping away for a bit for rest and family/friend time. You can still practice with us on YouTube or sign up for January classes. You'll see scheduled posts and a newsletter plus some community activities but everything else will be quiet until we return on January 3rd.
Join Casey and Erica for an IG Live Call-In Thursday, 12/16 at 12pm PST to discuss #DoNothingDecember. We’ll dive into the importance of slowing down, or (even better) doing nothing and discuss ways yoga studios and teachers can offer and highlight more than just errands (physical parties).
🔸Call-Ins are a series for studio owners, teachers, and practitioners to take a look at yoga in the West and discuss ways to create safer, more equitable spaces.
What are your thoughts or questions? Is this Challenge easy? How does your practice look like more than just poses?
In today’s world, there is the urgency to be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We remember to charge our phone's battery (most of the time) but often neglect our own battery, our own self-care. When was the last time you just let yourself be bored or wait in a line without scrolling on your phone, pulling up an app or game, or listening to a podcast or playlist? We are surrounded by so many options to avoid boredom that doing nothing has become a thing of the past.
You might be surprised to find that there are actual benefits of doing nothing --- you can become mentally stronger, more compassionate, cope better with change, feel more rested, be more creative, more self-reliant, think more deeply, and ultimately feel better.
💠Join us for a small act of self-care that can have a huge benefit on your overall wellbeing. Take just five minutes every day to do nothing. Yup, that's what we said NOTHING. Not yoga, not meditation, not a nature walk (just some of our favorite things!). Absolutely nothing.
D E C 4 | Join us this Friday (and every first Friday of the month!) to assist the stewards at Tacoma Nature Center to pull ivy and invasive plants. This is a great community event for all ages!
▫️ meet at back parking lot at 9am
▫️ bring a mask and gloves
▫️ stay as long as you can
At Yoga Wild we acknowledge that we practice on the seized lands of the Coast Salish people. Specifically, we teach classes on the ancestral and present-day homeland of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.
Today presents an opportunity for non-Natives to recognize, replace, restore and relate (see previous posts) to Native history and culture.

Starting this week reminiscing about yoga with these amazing views. 😍
In September, Erica joined @adropintheoceanshop at the @vermilionseainstitute in Baja for an Eco Warrior Retreat.
On Friday, 11/12 at noon, Erica will host a Community Chat on IG Live with Krystina Jarvis, founder of A Drop in the Ocean. Join to hear more about their mission and values, the zero waste movement, and the retreat in Baja.
Can’t stop watching this magical capture by @garrettbaespflug. Did you get to see irl?
