Please join us in celebrating Paige Fitzgerald, a shining example of compassionate, patient-centered care and a recent DAISY Award nominee!

Paige was nominated by the daughter of a patient who underwent exploratory surgery and experienced significant pain afterward. From the moment Paige walked into the room, she made an unforgettable impression—listening intently, reassuring the patient, and following through on every promise.

When her patient returned from surgery in pain, Paige didn’t hesitate. She acted quickly, administered medication, and immediately began advocating for something stronger to help ease his discomfort. She stayed on top of his care, checking in often and ensuring he was as comfortable as possible.

But what truly set Paige apart was her combination of clinical excellence and heartfelt compassion. She communicated clearly, never rushed, and made the family feel seen, heard, and supported through every moment.

“She treated him as a whole person—not just a patient—and showed us exactly what extraordinary nursing looks like,” the nominator shared. “Her uplifting presence made a difficult day a little easier to bear.”
