During the day I have a mindfulness bell go off on my phone every half an hour to remind me to pause, bring my attention to the present moment, and take 3 mindful breaths. I use the free Plum Village app (https://plumvillage.app/) to schedule my mindfulness bells. We can also use the breath as a focal point (or mind anchor) for longer meditations as described below.
