🎉✨ Ringing in 2026 with learning and fun in Ms. Makayla’s class! ✨🎉

Ms. Makayla’s class celebrated the New Year with festive 2026 crowns and an exciting balloon drop! 🎈 For reading, students reviewed letters and sounds using a Jack Hartman video, then practiced identifying the letters in their names with a hands-on craft. To support accessibility and accommodate vision loss, letters for students' names were lined with puff paint, allowing them to feel the form of each letter as they worked.

During math, students used a 2026 snack mat to practice counting and number recognition! 🔢🍿

What a joyful way to kick off the year with meaningful, multi-sensory learning! 💙

Our 2nd shift residential team proudly wore their matching sweatshirts — a special gift from our administrators before we left for Christmas break. 🎄🧥

This simple gesture meant so much and was a beautiful reminder of how valued and appreciated our staff truly are. We’re so grateful for this dedicated team and the care they show to our residential students every day. 💙👏

Sometimes the most meaningful learning moments aren’t planned.

When a student didn’t know what a snow angel was during a recent Morning Meeting “Would You Rather?” question, Nikki Grace jumped right in and modeled it by pretending to make a snow angel on the floor. This provided a clear demonstration to support understanding. ❄️👼

Through peer modeling and movement-based instruction, students strengthened vocabulary, concept comprehension, and social communication skills. These authentic, student-led moments support deeper learning and connection. 🤍📚🤝✨

Moments like this remind us that learning is everywhere — what unexpected learning moments have you seen lately? ❄️✨

During Ag recently, Grey worked alongside our groundskeeping crew to clean up leaves around campus 🍂. Ms. Rachel and the Ag students then put those leaves to good use—mulching plants and adding them as an important component of our compost piles. A great example of teamwork, sustainability, and hands-on learning in action!

Creativity, craftsmanship, and career skills — year round! 🎨🦅

Our Emerging Eagles don’t just make t-shirts — they also create custom door hangers, wreaths, and fabric swags for our school shop, Eagles Landing.

Students stain or paint wooden door hangers, add vinyl designs, bows, and floral elements, transform wreath frames with mesh to produce seasonal or custom designs, and create fabric swags by tying colorful strips of fabric onto twine to make unique, customized pieces. 🌸🎀🧵🍂

These projects provide hands-on opportunities to develop fine motor skills, sequencing, artistic design, teamwork, problem-solving, and vocational readiness, while giving students pride in producing high-quality items for a real workplace setting. ✨📚🤝

Combined with our DTF t-shirts, these projects allow students to experience multiple steps of the creative and production process, from design conception to the finished product ready for display or sale.

Which of these creations would you love to see in your home or office? 🏡🎀🧵

Spreading holiday cheer through reading and creativity! 🎄✨

One of our elementary students, Lauryn, paid a special visit to our PreK classroom to read How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The PreK students loved hearing the story and getting into the holiday spirit! 📚💚

After the story, the students expressed their creativity by painting their very own Grinch masterpieces, practicing fine motor skills, color recognition, and self-expression. 🖌️🎨

Moments like this build literacy, social connections, and artistic skills, all while celebrating the joy of the season. ❄️💫

Who else loves seeing the Grinch come to life through students’ creativity? 💚✨

🎁✨ We found a few more sweet moments from our school gift opening, and they were just too special not to share. 💙

From smiles of surprise to quiet moments of pride and joy, these photos capture the heart of the season—connection, generosity, and the simple happiness of being together. Our students were surrounded by love and kindness, and it showed in every reaction.

We are so grateful for everyone who helped make these moments possible and for the memories our students will carry with them long after the wrapping paper is gone. 💫

Sweet teamwork and hands-on learning! 🍬🏠✨

Just before winter break, Mrs. Maddison and Ms. Shelby’s classes joined forces to build a Gingerbread House, and the results were both creative and educational.

Students worked together to plan their design, practice fine motor skills while assembling and decorating the house, and make thoughtful choices about colors, patterns, and placement. They also strengthened communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills along the way. 🎨🤝

Activities like this turn festive fun into meaningful, skill-building experiences, allowing students to explore creativity while practicing important academic and social skills. ❄️🍭

What’s your favorite part of decorating a gingerbread house? 🏠✨
