🐴 Mrs. Jennifer’s class had an un-bridled good time at Education Village at the AIDB Marianna Greene Henry Special Equestrian Program !

Students fed and groomed the horses while learning all about 🐎 animal care, 🌱 responsibility, and how agriculture supports our community.

✨ Hands-on adventures like this help our students grow in independence, confidence, and real-world life skills — all while having fun! 💪💚

🎈✨ Mrs. Megan’s class also had a blast with a fizzy science experiment! By combining baking soda and vinegar, they created carbon dioxide gas that made their balloons inflate all on their own. 🧪 The students were amazed to see how mixing a solid and a liquid can cause such a fun change in matter. Hands-on experiments like these show our students that science is full of surprises and discoveries!! 💡

🎉 Our “We Can Do It” Program is all about fun, movement, and healthy choices! 🏃‍♂️💪🤸‍♀️ In partnership with University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) OT and PT students, our students spend an hour each week exploring activities they love while building motor skills and learning about healthy habits—like enjoying more fruits and veggies at mealtime. Hands-on activities, teamwork, and a few laughs make each session a win for learning and wellness! 😄

🎃🍂 Ms. Shelby and Mrs. Maddison’s classes brought the fall spirit outside with pumpkin painting fun! Using their fingers, students strengthened fine motor skills while turning plain pumpkins into colorful classroom decorations. 🍁👩‍🎨🖌️

What a creative way to welcome autumn! 🍁✨

🦅 Our Emerging Eagles took flight to Jax State for Transition U!

They kicked off the day with an engaging lesson on Events in the Community led by teacher candidates, then jumped right into fun and games at The Rec where they were joined by Cocky. 🎲🤝

After all the learning and laughter, the Eagles enjoyed a delicious lunch in the campus dining hall — such a fun way to wrap up the day! 🍴✨

🌱☀️ Roger had a great time soaking up the sunshine while watering plants in Agriculture recently! Not only was he enjoying the outdoors, but he was also learning about cause and effect—seeing how his actions help the plants grow. 🌼

💡🎈 Science got exciting in Mrs. Christina’s class! Students mixed baking soda (a solid) with vinegar (a liquid) and watched the fizzing reaction create carbon dioxide gas. The gas filled their balloons and made them rise—proof that chemistry is full of fun surprises! 🧪✨ Hands-on experiments like this help students see and understand how matter can change states in real life. 🎈💡

Ms. Makayla’s class had fun practicing social skills with RISE today! 🙌
Students watched a “No, David!” read-aloud video, answered yes-or-no questions using BoomCards, and then created their very own David cutouts to go along with the story. 📚🎨 What a creative way to learn and grow together!

🍎✨ Mrs. Maddison’s class mixed math with a little magic in the kitchen! Students measured, stirred, and baked up a tasty cinnamon apple treat. Learning has never smelled, or tasted, so sweet! 😋🍏

The AIDB Foundation offers Chapel Services to our students and staff on Sundays at 1:00 PM (except for closed weekends).
Transportation is provided from all campuses as well as Interpreters. All are welcomed to attend - messages are non-denominational.

🦅✨ The Emerging Eagles recently took a short trip next door to E.H. Gentry to explore the Business Enterprise Program (BEP) training area! BEP provides training and opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired to manage and operate vending routes, snack bars, and cafés.

Our students got to see the program in action and then visited the café—run by two students who were finishing their BEP training that very day! 🍪🥤 They enjoyed buying snacks while practicing money skills, communication, and social interactions—all while showing support for students completing their program.

It was a meaningful outing that gave our Eagles a chance to practice important life skills in a real-world setting. 💙💛
