It’s been a painful and traumatic past few days here in Tallahassee. I’m thinking about the students and staff returning to classes today and how triggering that could potentially be. Many of us are navigating survival mode, grief, fear, and uncertainty right now.
This post offers a few ways to regulate your nervous system, connect with others, and seek support. Whether your reaction has been fight, flight, freeze or fawn, your experience is valid. Trauma shows up in many ways, numbness, hypervigilance, exhaustion, irritability, difficulty sleeping, disconnection and more.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed:
• You are not broken
• You deserve safety and support
