Case Study: This client (male in 60s) had Rolfing 10 sessions twice from July 2021~June 2022.
Before he started receiving Rolfing, he was considering a knee surgery since it has been a problem for last 4~5 years, limiting his activities. He also had chronic discomfort in the lower back and C3~4. During the sessions, the Rolfer used "yielding" approach which stimulates the motility response in living tissue and promotes a system-wide coherency. After 2nd the 10 sessions, he felt his body in balance, with more energy and much less pain. He started playing golf again.
Assessment from the right lateral views:
The photo “Before #1” shows the position of the pelvis is posterior while the ribcage is anterior. The pelvis is tilted anteriorly while the ribcage is tilted posteriorly, thus the lumbar vertebrae has a hyper-lordosis.
In the photo “After #10” it can be observed that the pelvis has moved to a neutral position while the ribcage has moved closer to the midline (indicated in red), thus the space in the torso has been increased.
In the photo “After #20” the shift of weight bearing towards the midline can be seen, compared with “After #10”. ®
