A single ketamine infusion reduced severe depression symptoms in just four hours, according to a University of Connecticut review of 26 clinical trials.

The treatment also dramatically lowered suicidal thoughts within 24 hours, according to the analysis published in JAMA Psychiatry.

The drug is not yet FDA-approved for treating depression.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Novel Mind & Wellness Center, we recognize that remembrance can carry many emotions — gratitude, grief, reflection, and connection.

If today feels heavy, you’re not alone. Take a moment for yourself, breathe deeply, and give yourself permission to feel whatever comes up.

We are grateful for the sacrifices made and hold space for those who continue to carry their impact.

We appreciate conversations like this from Chalene Johnson.

It’s easy to assume that if someone is successful, disciplined, health-conscious, or has access to every wellness resource out there, they must have it all figured out. But burnout, stress, trauma, and feeling stuck can affect anyone.

That’s part of why conversations around medically supervised ketamine therapy and integrative mental health care matter so much. The more openly people talk about these experiences, the more we reduce stigma and remind others they’re not alone.

Mental health care isn’t weakness, and healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. Sometimes it’s about finally slowing down long enough to address the root instead of continuing to push through.

Check out her thoughtful post below. 🤍

Yesterday I did medically supervised ketamine treatment… not for depression, but to rewire stuck patterns that no longer serve me.

I don’t want to work this much. I don’t need to be this busy. And yet I can’t seem to stop.

Ketamine, in a clinical setting, helps the brain form new connections and break out of loops you’ve been stuck in for years… sometimes decades. It’s not a magic fix. The real work happens in the days after. But I’m ready to find out what’s on the other side of “always on.”

Dr. Andrew Levinson, MD (Vitality Health) is one of the most respected experts in this space. 30+ years in psychiatry, functional medicine, and orthomolecular psychiatry. He blends Western medicine with mindfulness… known for his work with trauma and helping patients break patterns traditional treatment couldn’t touch.

Orthomolecular psychiatrists treat mental health by optimizing the body’s natural chemistry… vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, and hormones.

As an MD, instead of jumping straight to medication, or peptides he looks at what my body is missing or overloaded with and works with me to correct it at the root - oh and he’s pretty funny.

This isn’t a typical post… for me, but I regularly share the not so pretty side of things with my Patreon listeners. Self improvement matters to me.

Also, we need to honor people with genuine gifts and passion for what they do. They’re rare. I promise you AI will never replace what I experienced today.

Burnout is real—and it doesn’t always show up the way you expect.

Check out what one of our patients had to say after starting treatment: "I feel like a different person. I wish we could have met sooner."

If you’ve been feeling something similar, you don’t have to push through it alone.

April is Stress Awareness Month! You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burned out to start paying attention to stress.

Sometimes the early signs are subtle:
• Feeling a little more tired than usual
• Getting overwhelmed more easily
• Needing more time to recharge

Those small signals matter. Noticing them early can help you take care of yourself before things feel too heavy. 💛

If you’re starting to feel this way, support is available, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Did you know? Burnout can show up as:
• Lack of motivation
• Feeling disconnected
• Going through the motions

If that resonates, it might be time to pause and check in with yourself.

Quick reset for your nervous system:

Try this:
1. Inhale for 4
2. Hold for 4
3. Exhale for 6
4. Repeat for 2 minutes

Even small pauses can help your body feel safer and more grounded.

A look behind the scenes. Today an incredible group of women worked on processes to improve patient care and efficiency. Alone, I would fail. Together we move mountains. Thank you all for your continued passion for helping others. At this table sit a group of intelligent and empathetic women who have the same goal as I do. I do not know of any other place like Novel Mind and I am so proud to be a part of it. When the burden seems to heavy to carry, these women remind me I never carry the weight alone. I don't want to forget to mention Kelly Kelly Ashling was on zoom!!! I love you ladies like family and thank you for sharing this dream with me. I could not do it all without you. Countless lives are saved every day because of you.

Sincerely
