it all started when...
Abby Hallett and Amanda Lewis met while attending Florida State University. They both studied Special Education, and while attending a national conference- they were introduced to each other. They both were the only two students in their class that were interested in the Transition side of Special Education. After working together through internships and practicums, they were both lucky enough to land a job in the ACE Transition Program at Leon County Schools. While in the program, they spearheaded a redesign of the curriculum which included community work sites, integrated employment, independent living skills training, and social skills training. After teaching together for 5 years, they noticed that there was an even bigger need in the Tallahassee area for adults with disabilities. This led to the opening of Future Pathways, LLC. With this business, their hopes are to assist teens and adults with disabilities in finding their future pathway!
