This date (3/21) represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome — the cause of Down syndrome.

🔹 Fast Facts:

Occurs in 1 in every 700 U.S. births
Affects all races and economic levels
Life expectancy has risen from 25 (in 1983) to 60+ years today
People with Down syndrome attend school, work, vote, and lead full, meaningful lives
Cognitive delays are typically mild to moderate — every person has unique abilities and potential

With inclusive education, access to healthcare, and strong community support, individuals with Down syndrome thrive and shine.
