June = Scoliosis Awareness Month
Let’s talk spines!

Part 1: Adolescent Scoliosis:
🟢Scoliosis is a condition that affects two to three percent of the population, or about 7 million people in the U.S.
🟢A screening test for scoliosis is non-invasive and takes about 30 seconds; come in for a consultation!
🟢People diagnosed with scoliosis can live full, active lives: ABSOLUTELY!
🟢Only two-thirds of states mandate or recommend scoliosis screening in schools, so it is important that friends and family members learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of the condition and know that help from their doctor is available

👟 Meet our Spring PT Practice Management Intern: Elianna M.

Eli is a Junior at FSU majoring in Human Development & Family Sciences with aspirations to be a physical therapist

She's in the Pre PT/OT Club and is from the state of Indiana. Eli enjoys running and recently competed in the Tallahassee 1/2 Marathon with her friends. Her next races will be the Flying Pig Half Marathon in Cincinnati and then onto the Chicago Half Marathon!

🏀Meet Alen F., another one of our Fall Semester interns at the Joy of Therapy

Alen is a junior at FSU studying Human Development and Family Sciences with plans to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. In his free time, he enjoys playing and officiating local basketball games, is an active member of the Pre PT/OT Club ,volunteers at TOSPT, is the programming chair of Progressive Black Men Inc, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Milestone Alert👇: Joy of Therapy has welcomed their 20th intern !

Our Fall semester intern, Kymora Q., is a junior at FSU pursuing a degree in Public Health, with plans to be a Physical Therapist.
She enjoys being an active member of the Pre-PT/OT Club, the Mahogany Dance Theater and the National Council of Negro Women. She also has a great mentor, her dad, who's a PT too!
