Even years after the tragedy of 9/11, our nation still finds itself hurting in different ways. Today, we not only remember what happened on 9/11, but we also reflect on what followed in the days after—moments when communities came together, when compassion outweighed division, and when unity was our response to pain.

This photo was meant to capture the ribbon, but it ended up reflecting so much more.

Today, we pray for peace among us all.
We remember. We honor. We stand together.

I’m Dr. Montilla—chiropractor, husband, and dad of four.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s how quickly these years fly by. One moment you’re tying their shoes, the next you’re watching them drive away. That’s why I believe in being intentional about the daily habits we help them build—because those habits shape their health, focus, and confidence for years to come.

Here are three things we do in our home that make a real difference:

1. Move Daily
Whether it’s a morning stretch before school, walking or biking when we can, or a quick game of tag after homework—movement keeps them strong and supports healthy posture.

2. Nourish Well
We trade the sugary cereals for oatmeal with berries and nuts, pack veggies with hummus in their lunches, and keep fruit ready for quick snacks. It fuels their bodies and minds for the whole day.

3. Rest Deeply
One hour before bed, screens go off. You can replace them with reading, conversation, or calming music. A cool, dark, quiet room helps them recharge so they wake ready to learn.

The days are short, the years are even shorter—but the healthy habits we build now can last them a lifetime.

Praying for a strong, healthy year ahead for your kids, their teachers, and all who guide their learning—grateful for each one.
