January 10 is Dr. Montilla’s birthday, which makes it the perfect time to share why he became a chiropractor 🎉

His story goes back to when he was just 10 years old. After being involved in a car accident, he dealt with ongoing discomfort and explored several approaches before being introduced to chiropractic care. That early experience sparked his curiosity about the body and how different systems work together.

Later in life, Dr. Montilla experienced another turning point when he suffered an injury that led to a disc herniation. Going through his own recovery deepened his understanding of movement, resilience, and the importance of individualized care.

What shaped him most wasn’t just short-term relief, but gaining a broader, more holistic perspective on how the body adapts, heals, and responds over time. That perspective continues to guide how he shows up for his patients today. 💛

Now, with 15 years in practice, Dr. Montilla is grateful to care for individuals and families of all ages and still loves what he does more than ever.

Pediatric chiropractic care often gets misunderstood, so let’s clear it up. It’s not what most people imagine. Here’s what’s really going on:

1️⃣ It’s not the same as adult chiropractic care- Pediatric care uses very light, age-appropriate techniques. No forceful twisting. No cracking. Everything is adapted to a child’s size, development, and comfort.

2️⃣ The goal is support, not “correction”- Care focuses on helping a child’s body move and adapt well as they grow, not fixing or forcing anything.

3️⃣ It can help support development, not just pain
Pediatric chiropractic care can help support with:
• Posture and movement development
• Nervous system regulation
• Balance and coordination
