September 23 - 27 is Falls Prevention Awareness Week, hosted by the National Council on Aging and the Falls Free Initiative. This nationwide observance raises awareness on preventing falls, reducing the risk of falls, and helping older adults live without fear of falling.

September is Healthy Aging Month, a time to celebrate the positive aspects of aging and inspire adults to improve their well-being.

Check out the tips below to age well and stay healthy!

🥕 Eat well: Eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid processed foods.

🚴 Stay active: Get at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, like walking. You can also do muscle strengthening activities, like carrying groceries, at least twice a week.

📞 Stay social: Engage in social and intellectually stimulating activities, and stay in touch with friends and family.

😴 Get enough sleep: 7-9 hours of sleep per night is recommended.

🩺 Get regular checkups: Regular checkups help doctors catch chronic diseases early.

🧩 Keep your mind active: Read or do puzzles to keep your mind active.
