We are honored to have been serving Tallahassee and the surrounding counties for 24 years and now we are retiring to a different phase of life. Thank you to all our donors and volunteers who have supported our mission for so many years and provided the means for us to do the work of providing counseling services for our community.

The reason is simple: Founder and executive director Brenda Rabalais plans to retire.

Lee’s Place, founded in 2000 by Dr. Brenda Rabalais in memory of her son who died at age 14 from bone cancer, is a local non-profit counseling center specializing in grief, loss, and trauma.

If you or someone you know is struggling with the after effects of their experience from the recent tornadoes that hit Tallahassee, there is a FREE session of EMDR to help relieve trauma. The Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) is made up of local licensed therapists who will provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy on a group level. If you are concerned about talking about your experience in front of others, EMDR does not require anyone to discuss their personal experiences outloud. The method of EMDR provided is a group protocol that targets recent experiences. EMDR is an evidence-based protocol for addressing single event trauma.
