Dr. Darcee Schmidt Functional movement assessment and musculoskeletal treatments. She assess the body as a whole to determine where weaknesses and strengths are found.

Dr. Schmidt treats the body with chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue manipulation, rehabilitation, and nutrition to improve the health and function of individuals. She views the body in a functional manner and assesses proper motion both globally and regionally. She has a speciali interest in Dance Injuries, Pregnancy care, and athletes. She is also a BIRTHFIT leader, promoting prenatal and postpartum care for women in all stages.

When can you start running after having a baby? Well, that depends! But honestly, you should probably wait a good 8-12 weeks and have a SOLID foundation of movement before you add in running. Your pelvic floor just went through an enormous change and you need to give yourself time to heal, build a new foundation and then challenge it properly. Check out the BIRTHFIT blog for more info!

How soon after birth can I run? Running postpartum requires a solid foundation as well as compassion and grace for your physical body. Slow is fast for running postpartum.

Exercise during pregnancy is SO great! Did you know that benefits for Mom's who exercise during pregnancy include:
-Decreased chance of premature labor and the birth of a very small baby
-Decreased risk for Gestational Diabetes
-Decreased weight gain and fat deposition
-Decreased physical discomforts, hastens recovery
-Tend to have easier, shorter, and less complicated labors
