Did you know January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month? More than 4 million people in the United States have glaucoma, and about 35% have related vision loss. Early detection is crucial, as glaucoma often develops without noticeable symptoms. This month is a reminder to check in on your vision and encourage loved ones to do the same.

Community Health Centers are here to help ensure everyone has access to the screenings and information needed to stay proactive about eye health.

January is Thyroid Awareness Month! It’s a time to highlight the importance of understanding how this small gland influences your everyday well-being. Thyroid issues are common and highly treatable when caught early.

If symptoms like fatigue, temperature sensitivity, or unexpected weight loss sound familiar, consider talking with your provider. Community Health Centers are here to help you stay informed, supported, and empowered in your health journey.

Happy New Year’s Eve from the FACHC family! Whether you’re celebrating at home or out with friends, remember to take a few simple steps to keep yourself and others safe:

- Don’t drink and drive—plan ahead for a safe ride.
- Celebrate responsibly and know your limits.
- Keep an eye out for friends, neighbors, and the community.

Our office will be closed tomorrow, January 1st, in observance of New Year’s Day. Cheers for a fun and safe start to the new year!

Improve Maternal Health in Florida - Share Your Experiences with Us!

A Maternal Health Assessment Survey is being conducted with statewide partners to gather information on the health status, needs, and experiences of mothers and their children in our Florida communities. This assessment survey is being distributed to understand the current state of maternal health in the community, identify areas for improvement, and develop targeted interventions. The assessment survey findings will be presented at FACHC’s Spring Maternal Health Convening to inform the development of targeted programs and interventions to address identified needs across Florida.
