This week, FSU Speech and Hearing Clinic is hosting their sixth annual Summer Listen Adventures for children grades K-5 who have hearing loss and use and listening and spoken language approach for communication.

Hosted at the FSU Lakefront Park & Retreat Center, students receive listening and speech-language therapy throughout the week and participate in exciting activities such as arts and crafts, music and dance, and outdoor activities. The students also have the opportunity to be with other children who have hearing loss and use a listening and spoken language communication approach.

Listen Adventures is led by, Linda Sasser, licensed speech-language pathologist who is also certified as a listening and spoken language specialist in auditory verbal therapy. Graduate students from the School of Communication Science and Disorders at FSU serve as camp counselors or “buddies” for the students.

An unforgettable weekend at the Special Olympics Healthy Hearing screenings in Orlando! 🧡✨👂

Our summer Aural Rehabilitation group had the incredible opportunity to support inclusive healthcare at the ESPN Wide World of Sports—providing hearing screenings (otoscopy, OAE’s, tympanometry, and hearing screenings) and connecting with some truly amazing athletes and their loved ones.

This experience reminded us just how vital accessible healthcare is for individuals with disabilities. We’re so grateful to be part of a profession that values advocacy, inclusion, and hands-on learning.

So much fun, so many smiles, and SO much inspiration! 🎧🏅
