In a post we shared this past October, we promised a BIG (and happy) announcement around New Year's Day, and TODAY IS THE DAY! And it's BIG news on multiple fronts!!! In the first 18 years we were open, we'd only employed female providers. Today that's no longer the case as Josh McDaniel, PA-C has joined our practice. If the name and picture seem familiar, it's because Josh worked with us as a WONDERFUL Medical Assistant from 2016 through 2019. We actually bragged on him in a post as he departed for Physician Assistant school, sharing "his kind, gentle demeanor combined with a wonderful sense of humor will serve him well in the years ahead!" And those words proved true, as prior to joining us he gained four strong years of dermatology experience working for a dermatologist in Jacksonville, Florida, where he both practiced general dermatology and performed many dermatologic surgeries. We fully appreciate some of our female patients will still prefer to see our female providers, and as Josh is outnumbered 4 to 1 we don't foresee it being too much of a problem! While we have always been a popular practice among female patients, MANY have also asked us to see their husbands and sons, with male patients now making up approximately 35 percent of our patient base. Accordingly we're confident Josh's addition will only serve to help us fully serve practice needs. We're extremely excited to have Josh rejoin us and ask that you please help us in welcoming him home to Tallahassee!

We just enjoyed our favorite annual tradition while hopefully starting a new one as well! As we have for many years, we again held our office party but THIS year Santa brought each employee a special gift -- a Christmas themed silver ornament! We remain extremely thankful for being blessed with a wonderful staff, and as we have in years past we've celebrated throughout the year as multiple staff members have advanced forward to post graduate medical studies as well as new life adventures. As Christmas and the New Year approach, we wish ALL of our friends peace, joy, and happiness now and in the days ahead!

Patients who visited us in October may have noticed the decor deteriorated quite suddenly! 💀🕸️🕷️ So that as many staff members and patients could enjoy the day as possible, we celebrated Halloween one day early. On a far less ghoulish note, we're already looking forward to our annual Christmas party... AND... will also be sharing one BIG (and happy) announcement closer to the New Year!

Only days away from celebrating 18 years of practice, we want to take the time to thank all of the employees across the years who've helped us make it this far. We also wish to share we feel a great deal of pride in how many former employees, though focused hard work, have gone on to become professional providers now working across the entire country. As we admittedly grow older we appreciate the words of American philosopher William James, "The greatest purpose of life is to live it for something that will last longer than you." Without a doubt, countless patients will be well served long after our own time has passed. And we'd be remiss if we didn't share that in addition to the former staff members pictured we weren't able to find photos for a few additional providers, and have almost as many recent employees currently enrolled in post-graduate programs this very moment. We definitely feel greatly blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people! 🙏

That time again for our "We love our early springs in Tallahassee!" post, and what better day to share it on than Valentine's Day. Almost impossible to believe that three weeks ago we were shoveling snow and ice out of our parking lot. All photos shared were captured just a stone's throw from our office at Dorothy Oven Park during recent lunchtime strolls. We keep saying it year after year -- we'll put the beauty of our early Tallahassee springs up against ANY place in the world! ❤️🌹❤️

One of our favorite shares each year... a picture from our Christmas party! When we look back at past pictures we're instantly reminded of many WONDERFUL area college graduates who've gained clinical hours working with our practice, and we take great pride in seeing so many now filling nursing, physician assistant, and physician roles. As we celebrate Christmas and approach the new year ahead, we wish ALL of our friends peace, joy, and happiness today and in the days ahead!

In past years we've shared our deepest thanks for every Veteran who has donned an Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, or Marine Corps uniform in order to protect the many freedoms we enjoy. We certainly wish to share our gratitude again today, and also acknowledge the service of one of our newest medical staff members, Staff Sergeant Melanie Orta. A Miami native, Melanie joined the Air Force Reserves during her final year of high school, and continued to serve throughout her college years at Florida State University. Working as a Medical Assistant she is now gaining clinical hours in anticipation of entering Physician Assistant studies in the near future. We definitely feel blessed to have her as a member of our team and thank her for her honorable service!

Thanks to Facebook's Memories feature, we can't help but be reminded of the saying, "The days are long but the years are short!" This month marks 17 YEARS that have passed since we first opened our doors at our original Mahan Oaks office, as well as 13 years of seeing patients at our current Thomaswood Drive office. Reflecting on the opening of both our first and current office, we remember WELL how excited and thankful we were to have full parking lots awaiting us and for this true blessing, we most definitely remain thankful! We look forward to years ahead serving our loyal patients and at this point honestly wish we could slow down the speed at which the years seem to be passing!

What better day than Groundhog Day to share some Tallahassee area beauty! Both as a promising sign of spring arriving as well as with the admission that much like the movie that shares the namesake of the holiday, we've made similar posts in past years. And as we've said before we feel extremely blessed to be located within such close walking distance of Dorothy Oven Park. It truly is a Tallahassee gem!

As we approach our 17th business anniversary in 2024, we can't help but count our many blessings! Each day we're able to see many wonderful and loyal patients in an office environment we love, and with a staff we firmly believe to be second to none! And on the staffing note, having now employed more than 50 area college graduates seeking clinical medical experience before attending post-graduate programs, we take GREAT pride in seeing so many now filling nursing, physician assistant, and physician roles. As we enter these final weeks of the year we wish ALL of our friends peace, joy, and happiness today and throughout the year ahead!

While the past few years have been trying ones to manage for the entire medical community, we're reminded of a line from one of Bing Crosby's songs in the movie White Christmas... "When I'm worried and I can't sleep I count my blessings instead of sheep, and I fall asleep counting my blessings!" Fifteen years after opening our practice with only a staff of 3, we're blessed beyond words to have both a wonderful staff AND wonderful patients! Wishing all of our friends peace, joy, and happiness today and throughout the year ahead!
