In response to the many calls we're receiving asking if we're open, the answer is a resounding, "YES!" This shared we wish to use this post to speak to precisely why, as well as to document steps we are taking to protect both patients and staff from Covid-19. The "why" is for two primary reasons. First, by providing dermatology care to patients who are often in general good health during visits, we are doing our part to minimize congestion at family practice, urgent care, and ER locations, while doing so in an environment likely to be a safer one for our patients. Second, we have numerous patients who require regular exams due to skin cancer histories, patients who will need prescriptions for dermatology findings, and again, by providing care we will be doing our part to help flow throughout the entire medical-care chain. We also wish to speak to steps we have implemented to minimize risks to patients. We have a solid history of minimizing wait times for patients by not overbooking, with a historical average wait time under 10 minute and we are working even harder at this time to place patients into exam rooms as quickly as possible after entering the building. Staff members are working to clean surface areas multiple times a day, magazines have been removed from the waiting room area (something most patients won't miss due to our brief wait times), screening questions and health checks are being shared with patients at the start of exams and any patients with fever or cold-like symptoms are being asked to leave immediately and to contact their primary care providers. At the start of each day we also are doing screening checks for our employees. Those who follow our page hopefully can appreciate that we try not to flood our followers' feeds with superfluous shares, but rest assured that as we move forward and deal with fluid conditions we will share any additional updates as warranted. In an effort to end on a bright note, we highly encourage our patients and friends to maintain physical and mental health by taking daily time to "unplug" and to enjoy some sunshine, solitude, and peace in the beautiful nature that surrounds us!
