Since 1996, Primary Care Holistic Center has provided quality healthcare with focus on the total patient - mind, body and spirit. Our acupuncturists work to prevent illness and maintain well-being. We understand the challenges that illness creates and meet our patients with a positive, peaceful and team-oriented approach. What to expect during your appointment? When you arrive at our clinic, our front desk staff will greet you and present health information forms. You will spend 10-15 minutes filling out these forms. To save time, you can download and print these forms from our Contact Us page and fill them out before you arrive. Once you complete these forms, a clinical assistant will es**rt you to a treatment room. Your visit will proceed as follows: Your practitioner will begin collecting information about your chief complaint and will review your medical history and other body functions. We encourage you to ask questions about your condition and discuss any other treatments you have tried in the past or are currently using. Your practitioner will assess your tongue and pulse to continue the diagnostic process. With your Traditional Chinese Medical diagnosis in mind, your practitioner will begin your treatment. (S)he uses sterile disposable needles to strategically target specific points throughout the body. Patients often report a tingling, warming or radiating sensation. Once your needles are in place, you will relax for 20-30 minutes. Many people fall asleep during their treatment. Your practitioner may incorporate other adjunct techniques during your acupuncture therapy. These include cupping, heat lamp, Tui Na and other techniques. A clinical assistant will remove your needles after your acupuncture session and provide a brief massage. As you are resting, your practitioner will compose a custom herbal formula to meet your specific needs. You may fill your customized formula directly at our onsite pharmacy and proceed to checkout. Most patients experience immediate relief from their symptoms after acupuncture therapy. We will outline a treatment plan which will provide you with a clear idea of how many acupuncture sessions you will need and how often. At Primary Care Holistic Center, we are devoted to the study of Traditional Chinese Medical arts and have a long list of therapeutic resources. Where to Buy SANOTIZE (Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray for COVID-19)

You can purchase SANOTIZE (also known as Enovid) online at:

Or, for some international options:

Please note:
• It is not yet FDA-approved in the U.S., so you may be ordering it from Israel or Canada.
• Always follow the instructions on the label for safe use.

Some countries now offer a special nasal spray made with nitric oxide that may help lower the risk of catching COVID-19. Studies show that when used before or after being in a crowd, it can reduce the amount of virus in your nose and may make it harder for the virus to take hold. It’s easy to use and has very few side effects, usually just mild nasal irritation. While this spray is not yet FDA-approved in the U.S., it is being used in places like Israel, India, and Thailand. It should not replace masks, vaccines, or testing, but it may offer an added layer of protection — especially during times of high exposure.

COVID-19 Update – July 2025
COVID-19 is currently spreading at a high level across Southeast Florida. While most cases are mild and resemble a common cold, we are seeing an increase in transmission, especially during summer travel and gatherings. If you’re feeling sick, please get tested and stay home for a few days to avoid spreading it to others. We recommend wearing a mask in crowded indoor places. As always, our office is here to support your health and safety.

The holidays came with a side of flu for many Americans, with 40 states reporting high or very high levels of illness last week, according to the latest government health data.
“A lot of flu out there,” said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Carrie Reed.
Of course, there are a number of bugs that cause fever, cough, sore throat, and other flu-like symptoms. One is COVID-19. Another is RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, which is a common cause of cold-like symptoms but can be dangerous for infants and the elderly.
The most recent CDC hospitalization data and other indicators show that the flu virus is trending higher than the other germs, Reed said. Several seasonal flu strains are driving cases, with no dominant one, she added.
Pediatric hospitals have been busy since November with RSV, but “influenza has now joined the party,” said Dr. Jason Newland, an infectious diseases specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
“Now we’re really starting to roll,” he added. ”Our hospitals are busy.”

The CDC also has been keeping its eye on a rise of illnesses from norovirus, a nasty stomach bug, with 91 outbreaks reported early in December.
Investigators also have been closely watching another kind of influenza virus, the Type A H5N1 version of bird flu. The CDC says 66 human U.S. cases of that were reported last year, but none of them in the last week.
The cases are “fairly sporadic” and the overall risk to the public remains low, Reed said. Almost all have been traced to direct contact with infected animals, with no proof of spread between people.

National Geographic
As plastic waste proliferates around the world, an essential question remains unanswered: What harm, if any, does it cause to human health?

A few years ago, as microplastics began turning up in the guts of fish and shellfish, the concern was focused on the safety of seafood. Shellfish were a particular worry, because in their case, unlike fish, we eat the entire animal—stomach, microplastics and all. In 2017, Belgian scientists announced that seafood lovers could consume up to 11,000 plastic particles a year by eating mussels, a favorite dish in that country.

By then, however, scientists already understood that plastics continuously fragment in the environment, shredding over time into fibers even smaller than a strand of human hair —particles so small they easily become airborne. A team at the U.K.’s University of Plymouth decided to compare the threat from eating contaminated wild mussels in Scotland to that of breathing air in a typical home. Their conclusion: People will take in more plastic by inhaling or ingesting tiny, invisible plastic fibers floating in the air around them—fibers shed by their own clothes, carpets, and upholstery—than they will by eating the mussels.

So, it wasn't much of a surprise when, in 2022, scientists from the Netherlands and the U.K. announced they had found tiny plastic particles in living humans, in two places where they hadn’t been seen before: deep inside the lungs of surgical patients, and in the blood of anonymous donors. Neither of the two studies answered the question of possible harm. But together they signaled a shift in the focus of concern about plastics toward the cloud of airborne dust particles we live in, some of them so small they can pe*****te deep inside the body and even inside cells, in ways that larger microplastics can’t.

American medical Association (AMA)

Even though people are becoming more connected through social media and other outlets, the great irony is that many people still feel lonely. That loneliness, in turn, can have far-reaching implications on a person’s health and well-being. Loneliness as a public health issue was also intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic. But even with the end to the COVID-19 public health emergency, loneliness still remains a pressing issue. Knowing how to recognize loneliness and what can help patients overcome feeling lonely is key.

AMA policy adopted last year identifies loneliness as a public health issue that affects people of all ages. The policy also supports evidence-based efforts to combat loneliness. This year, the AMA doubled down and adopted policy to further address the growing public health problem of loneliness and isolation.

Understanding that lack of social connection has profound effects on mental and physical health, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy, MD, released an advisory on the epidemic of loneliness and isolation. About half of U.S. adults experience loneliness, which presents a major public health threat that is akin to smoking and obesity.

Narcissism and social media according to studies:

Yes, there is a strong link between social media use and narcissism, and some experts believe that social media has contributed to an increase in narcissism in young people. Here are some ways that social media can contribute to narcissism:

Visual social media
Posting self-pictures on visual social media platforms, like Facebook and Instagram, is linked to higher levels of narcissism.

Self-promotion
People with higher levels of narcissism are more active on Instagram and engage in more self-promotional activities.

Comparing oneself to others
Social media can lead to social comparisons, which can contribute to narcissism.

Sensitivity to criticism
People who are narcissistic may be highly sensitive to criticism or a lack of admiration over their posts.

Sense of entitlement
Social media use can lead to a sense of entitlement.

Narcissism can also cause people to use social media more, creating a two-way relationship.

The CDC continues to expect that the 2024-2025 fall and winter virus season will likely have a similar or lower number of combined peak hospitalizations from flu, COVID-19, and RSV compared to last season. The initial outlook and this update are based on expert opinion, historical data, and scenario modeling for flu, COVID-19, and RSV.

RSV

Higher Risk for Older Adults
If you're over 60, you're more likely to get seriously ill from RSV. This can lead to serious complications, hospitalization, and death.

In older adults, RSV symptoms can be easily mistaken for a common cold. Look out for a runny nose, cough, low-grade fever, and decreased appetite.

Severe RSV can result in pneumonia and bronchiolitis. This is especially dangerous if you have health conditions like asthma or heart disease.

RSV spreads through droplets when someone coughs or sneezes. It can also spread by touching contaminated surfaces and then your face. Make sure to wash your hands often, and avoid close contact with anyone who is sick. Disinfect surfaces to reduce the spread of RSV in your home.

WHO Monkeypox

Mpox, previously known as monkeypox, is a viral illness caused by the monkeypox virus, a species of the genus Orthopoxvirus. There are two distinct clades of the virus: clade I (with subclades Ia and Ib) and clade II (with subclades IIa and IIb). In 2022–2023 a global outbreak of mpox was caused by the clade IIb strain.

Symptoms of mpox can include:
Fever.
Headache.
Muscle aches and backache.
Swollen lymph nodes.
Chills.
Exhaustion.
A rash that can look like pimples or blisters

Currently, the risk to most Americans from clade I mpox circulating in Central and Eastern Africa and the travel associated cases outside of Africa is very low, and there are no known cases in the United States at this time. The United States is well prepared to rapidly detect, contain, and manage clade I cases should they occur domestically.
