Dr. Lawrence LeBlond, president of the American Academy of Emergency Physicians, is board certified in family medicine and emergency medicine. He is a full-time emergency physician for Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, TN, and he is a clinical assistant professor at UTHSC, clinical associate professor with Christian Brothers University, and adjunct clinical faculty with Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. LeBlond is also the faculty advisor for the University of Tennessee’s Wilderness, Austere, and Remote Student Interest Group; chair of the Wilderness Medical Society’s CME and Academy Oversight Committee; and a member of the GME Fellowship Workgroup. His honors and awards include Master Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, Sound Physicians Educator of the Year, University of Tennessee Community Physician Award and the Wilderness Medical Society Denali, Matterhorn, and Dian Simpkins Service Awards.
