Simple Soothing Lotus Seed Tea mild, slightly sweet drink.
* Ingredients: 10 dried lotus seeds, 3 cups water, rock sugar or honey to taste.
* Instructions:
1. Prep: Rinse the lotus seeds. If they have a green, bitter germ/core inside, remove it, as it is very bitter (though some prefer to keep it for extra medicinal value).
2. Soak: Soak the seeds in warm water for about 15-20 minutes to soften.
3. Simmer: Place seeds and 3 cups of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer for 30–45 minutes, or until the seeds are soft.
4. May: Add rock sugar or honey to taste and stir until dissolved. Serve warm.

🙌GB21 Press firmly 3-5 minutes. Repeat hourly as needed. May use warm heating pad over shoulders afterwards.
🙌 Luo Zhen Locate this point on the OPPOSITE side of pain. If right side of neck hurts press point on left hand.
* Press firmly with the tip of a finger into the depression of the point so that you feel a tender sensation. I find I get the best pressure by using the tip of my thumb.
* Maintain the pressure whilst rubbing in small circles on the point.
* Whilst pressing the point, turn your head from side to side and you will notice that with time, the amount you can turn increases and the amount of pain decreases.
🙌 Si3 stimulate with firm pressure for 30–60 seconds while gently moving the neck side to side. This one was a doozy for me. Let me know how it felt for you.

One of TCM’s superior herbs discussed in our first women’s herbal circle meeting of the year. Dang gui aka d**g quai is sometimes (erroneously) referred to as women’s ginseng because of its potency but it is not a true ginseng. Dang gui was a favorite with this cohort and I may have been slightly biased to her magic 😉 and versatility. From infusions (teas) To broths this nourishing root supports us after recovery of long term illness as well as nourishes our blood and yin. Additionally in the lineage of my first herbal teacher of NYC, we learned acupuncture- acupressure points corresponding to the therapeutic effect of each herb. Want to share some quality meaningful time learning herbs & acupressure then join us next month March 8th 11-1 pm. Registration on website or use QR code in post.

Breathing may be automatic, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to do it “right” — especially when you’re learning to breathe for your pelvic health. If you’re thinking: I’m still not sure l’ve got this or I can’t tell what my pelvic floor is doing when I breathe in and out or Why does breathing have to be so complicated? — well, I get it. In my prenatal yoga teacher training this of all things was probably one of the most difficult things for me. I realized the importance but was frustrated I couldn’t do it. Revisiting this now after more yoga and in conjunction with pelvic acupuncture classes I’m approaching my pelvic breathe with a little more grace. Yes it’s difficult at first.
Learning to breathe for your pelvic floor is a process. It’s something we need to practice and revisit regularly. Inhale to relax exhale to contract is my little mantra. Take gentle steps and set a time and space, start with 3 min once a day. Work up to 5 min twice a day increasing as you can to reach a goal that’s right for you. Somewhere between 5-10 min 1-3 times daily. That’s it. Small steps can lead to improved pelvic and over all health. I especially like to focus on the second image showing the belly out with an inhale and belly in with the exhale. Video available if you’d like that tool just dm your email.

Some of the best of 2025
reflections

✹
As an acupuncturist, I’m deeply grateful for the work and the community I serve. From supporting moms and families, to caring for veterans, supporting fertility, to holding space through beginnings, endings, and everything in between—this year has been a reminder of the power of presence and connection. I also attended my last birth as a doula, a full-circle moment and a true blessing. Thank you to everyone who trusted me with their care. Thank you, 2025.
